In Safe Keeping

This week at Daring Cardmakers is all about pockets and envelopes.  The good old fashioned way to keep in touch.  So this weeks challenge is to use pockets and envelopes in some way on your card.

I have made a little envelope with a sentiment tag slotted inside and if you look closely one of the backing papers has envelopes on.  I think they are envelopes or they could be postcards.

The backing papers were from a freebie that came with a crafting magazine.  The papers are called Parisian Dreams and the set came with some little chipboard shapes.  I have then inked up the edges to give my card a vintage feel and added some lace.

I love these papers as they remind me of our Honeymoon in Paris.  We loved every minute and we even managed a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Headgear

Its Friday again.  I can't believe how quickly the weeks are going.  My little boy is now 7 weeks old and keeping Mummy up at night.  While he sleeps during the day I either craft or do the housework but I think I would rather craft.

Its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers and this week its headgear.  So the team would like to see some sort of head wear on your card which could be a hat, bandana, party hat etc..

I have gone with a tiara.  Hope you recognise  the princess and tried to make it look like Elsa from Frozen as my daughter loves it.

The princess image is from My Time Made Easy called Something Magical and the papers are from do crafts, part of the Bellissima Christmas collection

I have then added lots of glitter to her and some snowflake embellishments.

Hope you can stop by the Daring Cardmakers blog for some more lovely inspiration.

January Blues

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is all about cheering yourself up or someone else. Just to be inspired by the heading of January Blues.

I have gone with a wintery themed card and what I love about the cold weather is lots of hot chocolate which always cheers me up.

I made the little mug out of corrugated card and added a little wooden spoon.  I also added some pom pom trim which I love.

I hope you can stop by the Daring Cardmakers Blog for more lovely inspiration and to help beat those January Blues

Elemental Inspiration and Happy New Year!!!!!!

Happy New Year to all my lovely followers.  Sorry for the absence but have been a little bit busy with Christmas and a new born who is now 4 weeks old and is fast asleep next to me while I type this.

I finally had some time to craft so this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is called Elemental Inspiration.

We will take turns to choose and post a picture - it could be a photo, a piece of artwork, or maybe a little montage of  bits and pieces we like.  Each of these pictures will have a variety of "elements" that we hope will inspire you to get crafting - and we'd like you to use a minimum of THREE.of the elements you see to make a card   For instance the colour combo could be one element, the LO another, and then there may be a landscape, items in the picture, a quote, stitching lines, the media used to create the picture - all sorts of things.  We will add a little list of suggested elements each month, but you're bound to see more things you can use

So here is Kathy's Elemental Inspiration Picture for January, a beautiful piece of artwork from a fabulous blog: Victoria's Art Visions.

Victoria's Art Visions
Kathy has also made a little sketch of the Layout which could be used as one of your elements.

Here is my card:

The elements I have picked are the colours, hearts and a vintage feel with the pocket watch.
