Book Folding

I have seen this craft around for a while now whilst browsing through Pinterest and I thought these are beautiful and I gave it ago.

So here are a few of my book folding projects.  I have just started out with the basics mainly birdcages and bird/fairy houses.  I hope to have a go at folding some words but I need to download some patterns first which I have seen to buy on Etsy.

This one is made using a hard backed book and I have lined the inside with papers from Prima.

All the flowers are handmade using the Spellbinders Rose Creation die.  The lace in the pictures belonged to my husbands late Grandmother and I thought this would be a lovely way to use it.  She really did like handmade things.

This one is a bird/fairy house and I have added some bunting to this to decorate along with some punched butterflies.

Again I have used the Rose Creation die along with some rolled flowers and lots of sequins.

Celebrating Spring

Hello Friday and Happy Easter to all.

Its Friday and its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers.

Its Kathy's turn to host this weeks challenge and as its Easter weekend and a good time to celebrate all things spring, Kathy would like to see something that springs or bounces on your card.

Here is my creation and I have used a peg which has a spring inside.

I then wanted to create a spring inspired card and for some reason clothes hanging on a washing line popped into my head.  I love the smell of clothes after that have been blown about a bit.

I created the little dresses using the Owl Builder Punch from Stampin Up.  I then added some pom pom trim and lace to the bottom of each dress.

Kraft Creations

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  We had some great weather here in France so managed to take a few lovely walks with my kiddies and made the most of the sunshine.

Its Nat's turn over at Daring Cardmakers this week to host the challenge and she has chosen KRAFT.

Nat would like to see kraft card on your creation.  I do love a bit of kraft as I don't often use coloured card blanks so it does make a nice change.  I have also been desperate to use my new Stampin Up Owl Builder punch which I bought from Karen at Maudie Paper Craft.

I have used kraft as my base card and used a bit of textured paper to look like a tree trunk with the little owl peeping out.  I do need to make another purchase of a wood grain embossing folder as I think it would like great with these cute owls.

I have then added a few dies cut leaves and some little sequins.  I think sequin are my new bling at the moment as I seem to use them a lot.

Don't forgot to stop by the Design Team blogs for more lovely inspiration.

Have a great week!!!!

SPEEDY!

Its my turn to host the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and I have called it "A Need For Speed".  I hope you will join in.

The new season of F1 is due to start in the next couple of weeks and I know that my husband will be glued to the television.  I would like to see some sort of vehicle on your card.  Something that gets you from A to B with a bit of speed.  This could be a car, motorbike, bus, bicycle.  Anything with wheels or an engine.

Here is my card:

I have used Tim Holtz gears embossing folder for the back ground which was embossed onto core'dinations card but I couldn't find my sand paper so the underneath colour isn't showing.

I have then used a die cut for the car and added the sentiment as the number plate.

Its not a very sporty looking card but I think it would appeal to all ages.

Resist Technique

I am very very late with this post but I thought I should get something typed up as this challenge from Daring Cardmakers was a challenge for me.

This weeks dare is all about resist techniques and as I am not a inky sort of crafter I found this difficult.  I do love a good challenge.

I own a grand total of 6 ink pads of which one is black and the other is clear.

I decided to keep my card clean and simple so I went with some lovely polka dot flowers from Paper Sweeties.

I stamped and embossed he flowers using white embossing powder then rubbed the ink over each flower to make it stand out.  I also cut out some of the flowers to add a bit of dimension.

You still have time to play as the new dare starts tomorrow and don't forget to check out the Design Team Blogs.
