Wedding Wishes

Hello Everyone and I hope you are ready for the weekend.

Its a Wedding or an Anniversary theme to our challenge this week at Daring Cardmakers and this dare is hosted by our lovely Ruth.

I was asked by a friend of mine to create this card and was asked to make something a little shabby chic.  This is a style I struggle with but I gave it ago.

I used this lovely die from Spellbinders and Sharyn Sowell called Corner Floral from the Flower Garden Collection.

I started with a square of white card and used a wood grain embossing folder to create the background.  I then found some of this pretty patterned paper in my stash and distressed the edges and added a little ink.

I also found this lovely doily in my stash which I think came from the Love Is Through The Letter Box kit from Bubbly Funk.

I used my favourite stamp set from Stampin Up called Jar of Love.  I love this little stamp set as its great for making my favourite style of card.  The jars just  lend themselves to shaker cards.

I then stamped my greeting onto a die cut banner and added this to my card.

I finished my card with a this pretty piece of lace.

One Happy Day and a Mermaids Tail.

Good Morning all.

Today I am sharing with you a bit of Spellbinders and the lovely new Through The Letter Box kit from Bubbly Funk called One Happy Day.

While I was in England I made my annual visit to Hobby craft and picked up this lovely box frame which you can find HERE.

To create my picture I started with a square of white card and cut an square aperture into the centre.  I then added some designer paper from the beyond the shore pack from Trimcraft.  I also created some little waves to add to my picture.

I then used the Build A Mermaid die from Spellbinders and cut out the tail using the purple glitter paper from the One Happy Day kit.  I glued this upside down and in the waves.

Next I cut out the Mermaid from the die set using the same glitter paper and added one of the gems from the kit to her hair.  I also used the Tropics Wild and Free set from Spellbinders and Debbie Adams to create the leaves behind the mermaid.

To finish my box frame I added some gems that I already had which I picked up from a local store here in France called Gifi.  I also added lots of the purple sequins from the One Happy Day Box.

I love how this project has turned out and something completely different from me.  I think I will be making lots more of these especially now  Hobbycraft deliver to France.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Succulent Garden

Good Evening all.

I have a Spellblogger project to share with you and as the weather has decided its now summer I have a kind of summery themed card.

I have used the Die D-Lites succulent garden die from Spellbinders.  These seem to be the only plant I can look after as I am terrible at remembering to water them.

The die set is fantastic as it comes with 3 different plants and a plant pot.

For my card I used all three.

I do like a lot of white space on my cards these days so as always I started with mat and layering squares of white card and added a small piece of patterned paper.

I then cut the succulents from different shades of green card and inked through the die to show the details.

I then finished my card with a few sequins and a stamped greeting.

This card is for the challenge over at The Colour Throw Down.  I do love the colour combination.

Thanks for stopping by today.

What A Wonderful World

Hello everyone and I hope you have had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Its Friday so that means its challenge time from Daring Cardmakers.  This weeks challenge is hosted by the lovely Kathy who has picked her favourite song as your inspiration this week.

What a Wonderful World
Louis Daniel Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

Songwriters: George Douglas / George David Weiss / Bob Thiele

For my card I was inspired by the line "The colours of the rainbow so pretty in the sky".

I started with a square of white card stock to create my colourful background.  I selected lots of colours of inks and blended them together and flicked a little water over the top.  I put this to one side and started to die cut my rainbow.

I used a die that I recently bought from Craftelier by Lawn Fawn.  I had the phrase "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain" going around in my head in order to get the correct colours but I had to use gold and pink instead.  Once I had my rainbow cut out I glued this to the front of my card.

I then used another die from Craftelier and Lawn Fawn to create these lovely fluffy cloud borders.  I cut the clouds from white and white glitter card stock.

I then finish with a little stamped sentiment from Paper Sweeties called Snow Time.  Its from a Christmas stamp set but I thought this sentiment suited the card perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out how in the Design Team over at Daring Cardmakers were inspired.

Spellbinders Giveaway

Hello crafters.

I have a little giveaway for you today.

I have created a card to show you this beautiful die from Flower Garden collection by Sharyn Sowell at Spellbinders which is up for grabs on my give away.

To create my card I started with a square of white card stock and I used the Corner Floral Die also from Spellbinders and the Flower Garden Collection.

I cut the flowers several times to create my background and then added a piece of designer paper to the back.  This looks really pretty through the die cut flowers.

I then used the Botanical Butterfly and cut this from some very pretty gold glitter card stock.

I cut a strip of white card stock and added my greeting to this where I created a little drop shadow using some more of the glitter card stock.

To finish my card I added a few pearls.

If you want the chance of winning the Botanical Butterfly die please leave a comment at the bottom of the post.  The giveaway is open to UK and Europe residents only.

You can also leave a comment on my Facebook page under the link to this post.

Anything But White

Hello everyone.

Well that's it.  My French course is over and it was tough so lets bring on the summer holidays with the kids.  They still have a few weeks left but I am actually quite enjoying the peace and its giving me a bit more time to craft.

So this weeks challenge from Daring Cardmakers is brought to you by Joanne.

The challenge is called "Anything But White"

Joanne would like to see anything but white for your card base/background.

This was a tough one for me as I usually use white for all my card bases.

So I had a think and used black card stock and gold embossing powder.

I started with a black card blank and added a square of black card stock.  To this I added this lovely flower stamp from Stampin Up called Wood Words.

I bought the stamp set in French as I though it would be lovely to make some cards with French sentiments on which will be nice to give to my French friends.

I then inked up my stamp in clear versa mark and stamped the image twice.  I then added some gold embossing powder, heated this up and watched the magic.  I haven't heat embossed in such a long time and I actually forgot how much fun it is.

I then took some red card stock and stamped and embossed the image again and cut the flowers out and added them to my card using foam squares.

I then cut a strip of black card for my sentiment and again I stamped and heat embossed this.

I don't normally do cards like this but I do really like it and it looks clean and simple with a touch of elegance.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by the Daring Cardmakers blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

HMS DAD

Hello Crafters.

I think it might be safe to blog about my Dads Fathers Day card now.  He has received it and probably opened it even though its not quite Fathers Day.

There is a new Bubbly Funk through the letter box available to buy right now and its called Hooked.

When I received the box I knew I had to make a card for my Dad with a little nod to his Navy career.

In the box there are lots of yummy supplies to create some really fun cards and great for those masculine cards.

Once I saw the big bag of beads and sequins I just had to make my favourite style of card, a shaker.

I created my shaker element first and filled it with sequins and also in the box there are some lovely wooden embellishments which worked great with this project.

I then die cut this little boat and anchor from a die set at Spellbinders called Nautical.  I paper pieced the sails using the patterned paper and card stock from the Letter Box kit.

I also added the little ships wheel which was also from Hooked Letter Box Kit.

I then used some letter dies also available from Spellbinders to create my sentiment on the card and called it HMS Dad.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the Bubbly Funk SHOP and BLOG for more lovely Letter Box inspiration.

Quick and Easy Favour Box

Hello everyone and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

We had some awful weather.  It rained all weekend.  I managed to get a little crafting done but I was meant to be revising for my French exam.  I have done a little this morning so now its time for some blogging.

Todays project is a lovely little favour box which was so easy to put together.

I made it using a steel rule die from Spellbinders.

So quick and easy and all you need to do is decided which colour card you want to use.

Using the Steel rule dies are great especially if you need to cut more than one.

I have used the Keeping Tabs die for my project and these steel dies will cut all kinds of other material including leather and chipboard.

I decided to add some embellishments to my box and the Built On Love Stamp Set by Tammy Tutterow was perfect for this.  I stamped and die cut the little Flower Swag from the set and coloured it using some promarkers.

To finish my box I added some pretty yellow polka dot ribbon.

The Keeping Tabs Die Set is perfect if you have a wedding coming up or a big party.  They take no time at all to put together.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great Monday.

Go Tropical

Yippee its Friday and no more French course apart from my exam which I am nervous about.

As summer is nearly here Shabneez our lovely host for this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers would like to you to "Go Tropical".  Shabneez would like to see bright colours, clashing patterns, tropical birds or flowers etc...

The team can not wait to see what you come up with.

I went with a few tropical palms and a flamingo on my card this week.

I used a die set from Spellbinders and Debbie Adams called Tropics Wild and Free.

The set comes with lots of dies including a flamingo, palms and a pineapple for making your summer themed cards.

I created a background for my card by using some inks blended together to look like a sunset or perhaps the beach and sky.

I then created a stencil using one of the tropical palms from the set and inked through the negative space.

I also added a few of the other tropical leaves from the set using a selection of papers and of course glitter card.  I cut my flamingo from pink card and added this to the bottom corner of my card.

I then finished my card with a stamped greeting and a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend.

xXx

One week and counting

Hello everyone and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

We moved my little boy into his big boy bed and he was super excited.  My back is hurting now as we needed to move the bedroom furniture about.

I also only have one more week left on my French course then my final exam the week after.  I can't wait to spend some time with my family and start on my next adventure but I am not quite sure what that will be.  I would prefer something craft related but we shall see.

I have another little project to share with you today using some very pretty dies from Spellbinders.

I have used a couple of sets from Tammy Tutterow at Spellbinders.  Both are from the Sew Sweet collection.  The little flower swag is from the set called Built On Love and the sentiment is from the set called Sweet Sentiments.

I started with a square card blank and added a piece of designer paper down one side.

I then stamped and die cut the flower swag and coloured this using promakers.

I then cut the sentiment from the same sheet of designer paper and then added this to my card.

I finished my card with a few sequins as I love my bling.

A quick and simple card made with a couple of die sets.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Spellbinders website to check out the complete collection from Tammy Tutterow.

June Elemental Inspiration

Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend.

Its challenge time over at Daring Cardmakers.
This week, as its the beginning of the month we have our elemental inspiration picture for you.

Please pick 3 elements from the image below to use on your creation.

I have combined this weeks challenge with a Spellblogger post and used a gorgeous die from Flower Garden Collection by Sharyn Sowell at Spellbinders.

The elements I picked were the colours, flowers and stripes.

I started with a piece of designer paper which had a little wood grain effect on it.  I then used a stencil to create the stripes using 3 different shades of blue ink.

I then die cut the pretty Flowers from the set using pink card for the inside and some beautiful blue mirror card for the rose detail.

The die set is great as it has lots of possibilities from using it like I have.  Or just use the rose detail straight onto your card and perhaps sliding another colour underneath.  You could even stencil through it and create your own background.

I then created a greeting with a little drop shadow in some of the mirror card using the Simply Said Phrase One set also from Spellbinders.

To finish my card I then added some little pearls which came from a Through the Letter Box kit available from Bubbly Funk.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely weekend.
