Zesty Christmas

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Now that the summer is coming to an end I can finally think about my favourite seasons, Autumn (fall) and Christmas.  Well is Christmas classed as a season maybe I should have said Winter.

I wanted to share a project with you that uses a summer feeling stamp and die set.  I was inspired by the festive scents of Christmas when I made this card.

I used the Sweet Citrus bundle from Stampin Up to make the orange slices.  I then used the foliage from the decorated with happiness set which is also from Stampin up.  I also used another die from Spellbinders called parcel and post for the little red berry and gold stems.  All I needed for this card was a little bit of cinnamon and it would have the perfect festive fragrance.

I also used an embossing folder to add some festive interest to the base of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Daring Cardmakers - Billions of Butterflies

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our love host this weeks is Shabneez who has chosen the theme of butterflies.

I bet every crafter has some sort of butterfly in their craft stash.  I was quick to pull this beauty of a die from my stash which I haven't used for forever.

I wanted the die to be the star of my card as its so intricate and the large butterfly cuts so that it pops up.

I then decided to paper piece some foil card into the design just to add a little colour.

I also added some bling to the centre of the flowers within the die and finished with a greeting.

Daring Cardmakers - Pearls

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Kathy who would like to something pearl on your project.  This could be flat backed pearls, pearlescent paint, etc..

I used some pearlescent card stock.  You cannot tell in the photo its definitely pearly.

I am still feeling the festive crafting mood and thought if I make one a week, whether that be for a challenge or just for my stash, I will have enough come December.

I forgot I had these papers from My Minds Eye called Sugar Plum.  One of the sheets I had left had this lovely winter scene and I knew there was a reason I put it aside.  Just look how pretty it is.

I made a lovely frame using the Snowman Magic dies from Stampin Up as this piece of designer paper needed to be the main focus.

I finished the card with a sentiment and some bling.

Daring Cardmakers - All Taped Up

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Joanne who would like to see some tape used on your projects.

I picked the easy option and used washi tape.  But I have been using masking tape a lot lately as I have been re painting our whole house interior.

I had to dig deep into my crafting stash as I don't normally use washi tape.  I managed to find a candy striped one and a glitter.  I then thought of Christmas and candy canes, so I made a festive card.

I added a few strips of the washi tape to my base card but I just torn them rather than cutting.

I then added a candy cane and some holly die cuts to the front along with a festive greeting.

The washi made a really quick card and without the weight of designer series paper.

Daring Cardmakers - August Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

This week our lovely host is Joanne with the elemental inspiration challenge.  Joanne wanted us to re visit an older challenge from the same month but from 2015.  I will post my original card at the end as I am curious to see how my style has changed.

Remember to use at least 3 elements on your card.  I have picked the colours with a pop of red, heart, frame and a cup.

I used the Cup Of Tea set which is now retired from Stampin Up to create the main topper of my card.  I also cut a frame using some stitched rectangle dies and added a piece of designer series paper to the base of the card.

Now lets re visit my card from 2015 from the very same challenge.

CLICK HERE to be taken to the post.

I have still used a piece of designer series on the base card but used spots instead of stars. Back in 2015 I also didn't have a lot of craft supplies and the star dies I have used were one of my first purchases from Stampin Up and I still have them.
