Spellblogger Giveaway

Hi All.

Happy Bank holiday if you are in the UK.

I am having a little giveaway today to celebrate the end of summer and back to school.

But first I just wanted to share with you a little book folding project.

I made this bird cage from an old book and added some gorgeous flower dies from Spellbinders.

The dies came in a set to create some lovely Wall Art but I wanted to add the beautiful blooms to my bird cage.

The set comes with a set of four flowers dies, a Tool in One, the Prizm die cutting machine, a selection of card stock and the picture to add your flowers to.

A great bargain and a lovely set to spilt among your craft friends.

The flowers fit lovely through the Prizm and its such a cute die cutting machine.  Perfect to put in your bag to perhaps take on holiday or to a friends house.

The flowers are such a good size once they are put together so I grouped them on the top of the bird cage.

I am giving away the Shapeabilities Create a Hydrangea die which comes in the set as I have this one already.

It makes the loveliest flowers and the embossed detail is beautiful.  Use coloured card or get your inks out to make these flowers.

All you have to do is leave me a comment and I will pick a name at random.

The giveaway is open worldwide.

Good luck and you have until Monday 4th September at 12:00am GMT to leave a comment.

Fast Food and Coffee To Go!

Hello Bloggers.

Its time for another challenge from Daring Cardmakers.

The team would like to see some sort of takeaway food on your creations.  This could be pizza, burgers, fries or coffee to go.

One lovely thing about living in France is I love the coffee.  When you visit a tea room its always fresh and so tasty.  There is a lovely tea room where I live with teapots on the ceiling as lights.  Next time I am in I must take a photo to show you, its fabulous.

I went with a take away coffee theme for my card.

I used a die and stamp set from Paper Sweeties called Coffe, Yes Please.  Its a very cute set which comes with the take away cup, mug, the steam and some little coffee beans.

I then made a little chalk board.  I stamped the sentiment and coffee bean in white and heat embossed.  I then added a little white ink to look like a chalk board.  The happy birthday sentiment was from a stamp set I had in my stash.  I then cut the steam from a piece of vellum and tucked it behind the cup so you couldn't see the glue.

The papers were from a shop called The Works in the UK and were a bargain price of £1!!

I hope you can stop by the Design Team blogs for more lovely inspiration and we can't wait to see your creations.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Before the Summer Ends

Hello All.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.  The summer holidays are soon going to be over and we will be thinking about going back to school so I just wanted to squeeze in one more summer themed project.

I created this card using the Tropics Wild and Free set by Debi Adams at Spellbinders.  I cut the pineapple from gold glitter card and the tropical leaves from different coloured green card stock.

I then wanted to create a beach background so I use some coloured ink to create the sky and beach.  To frame the beach scene I used Marvelous Squares set from Spellbinders but unfortunately this set is now discontinued but any die that allows you to create a frame will work.

To create the embossed background I used the Blistered Embossing Folder by Tammy Tutterow and added some gold gliding wax to it.

I then added the sentiment in black which is from the set called Simply Said Phrase Two.

To finish I added some sequins.

For more details about the dies I have used please stop by the Spellbinders website.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day.

Spellbinders Holiday Release

Here I am again with another release post with dies from Spellbinders.

This time I am creating with the very cute Die D-Lites Candy Cane.  Its a really good size die and comes with a little bow.

To make this card I cut the candy cane from red mirror card stock and then cut another from white card stock.  I used the waste from the white cane to add the stripes back in.  Every other stripes cuts out so you could add any colour you wanted.

I then cut the bow from red glittered card stock and added a little jingle bell.  These dies are also the perfect size to fit in the Prizm die cutting machine.

For the sentiment I used the Die D-Lies Ho Ho Ho and cut this from black card stock.

I created quite a modern Christmas card for this one and used a lovely sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Please stop by the Spellbinders website for more details of the die sets used and check out the lovely new releases.

Action!!!

Its Friday and its challenge time from the Daring Cardmakers.

This is a 'word' challenge - the idea is that you use the word however you like.  For example it could be sports action, or film, film reel, clapperboard etc, or another Action phrase like 'Action Stations', or the card itself could have an action or moving element,   Or anything else inspired by the word.

Here is what I came up with.

I made a spinner card.  I am not sure if that's the correct name for it but the rocket orbits the earth.

To make this card I first cut a circle into the black card stock then added a smaller die cut circle to make a track.

I then cut the rocket from silver mirror card stock using the set called Spaced Out by Spellbinders.  I then added a little coin to the back to allow the rocket to spin. The earth die is set from spellbinders called Die D-Lites World and I cut this from white card stock and added some green and blue ink.

I then finished my card with a sentiment cut from mirror card stock using the Shapeabilities Simply Said Phrase One set.

Don't forget to check out the design team blogs to see how they use the word ACTION!!!

For more details about the die sets I have used please head over to the Spellbinders website.

Have a great weekend.

New Releases from Spellbinders

Hello All.

So who is Christmas crafting?

I have made a start and I wanted to share with you the lovely new releases at Spellbinders from
Sharyn Sowell.

These beautiful new dies create a silhouette effect and they have the most precious little Christmas scenes.

The first die I have used is called Fa La La and has some little children playing musical instruments and carrying a tree.

I cut the die using kraft card stock and to make the die stand out I cut another from red mirror card and created a little shadow effect by just creating a tiny border.

I then made the card into a little shaker to add a bit of fun and the sentiment is another new release called Ho Ho Ho.

The next card I have made is one with a lovely winter scene so I cut this one using white card stock and added a tiny border of silver.

This die is called Sledding.  I added an extra piece of torn card stock to the bottom of the die so that it looked a little like deep snow.

I then added a strip of vellum to the top with the greeting cut from silver mirror card and then added a little jingle bell.

The last card I made was using the die called Presents.  I wanted to create a warm and cosy feel to this card so I cut this one from kraft card stock and added a little red mirror card border.

I used some warm and cosy patterned paper which I think looks like a Christmas jumper.

The greeting is again from the die set called Ho Ho Ho.

With all these dies I found that you didn't need to add much as the dies themselves are just so lovely and take centre stage on your cards.

Please check out the website at Spellbinders for more details about the dies I have used and also all the new releases.

Thanks for stopping by.

Unnatural

Hello Bloggers.

Its Friday so time for a challenge from the team at Daring Cardmakers.  Our host this week is Enfys and the theme is unnatural.  The challenge is to use a colour on your card that isn't found in nature.

So think of purple trees, pink elephants and green sheep etc...

I picked pink owls.  Such a cute little pair.

The image was an old download from Pink Petticoat and The Lovely Studio which I have had stashed away for a while.

I just coloured the cute pair with promarkers.

I cut the sentiment from die set called Simply Said Phrase One from Spellbinders and the little flowers are also from a die from Spellbinders called Spring Time.  I just added a little flowers shaped sequin to the centre.

The papers I used are from a set I fell upon whilst having a rummage in a local shop.  It was a Easter pad but I used some of the papers that didn't have chicks and bunnies on them.

I hope you can stop by the Design Team Blogs to see what they came up with.

Have a lovely weekend.

Pineapples and Flamingos

Hello All,

I am just following on from last weeks post from Daring Cardmakers as I was so inspired by the elemental inspiration image that I created a couple more projects using the Tropics Wild and Free Set from Spellbinders and Debi Adams.

I used the same technique using twinkling h2o's to create the background.  Just by adding the colour to my craft sheet and spritzing with water and pressing down with a sheet of plain white cardstock.

I then used the Tropics Wild and Free die set from Debi Adams and Spellbinders to create the pineapples.  I had a little fun and made them in glitter card to match the background.

I love how the backgrounds are never the same even though I used the same technique.  The flamingo you see above also comes in the set along with some tropical leaves.

I had so much with this set I then went on to create a matching banner.

To create the banner base I used Celebrations Pierced Circles from Spellbinders.  I inked up the centre of the white cardstock using yellow and blue to give it a beach feel.

I then added some summer themed words using an old alphabet stamp set I had stashed away.

I alternated the images with flamingos and pineapples in lovely bright colours and added a few sequins to finish.

The banner would make a great addition to a tropical themed party.  Or just to hang up in a summer house or porch to celebrate the season.
