My Superhero

Its National Superhero Day!

So to celebrate at Daring Cardmakers Nat our lovely host has set the perfect challenge,

Make a card dedicated to the
Superhero in your life.

Mine has to be my Dad.  This is a hard thing for me to write but my Dads cancer has beaten him and he has fought like a Superhero for a few years now.  So this card is for him he will always be my Superhero and I am super proud of him.

We will face this next chapter together as a family.

Love You Dad.

I have been missing for a few weeks as we went to visit my parents in England over the school Easter holidays.  So I havent got around to posting the last few dares from Daring Cardmakers.

For my card I went with a Captain America theme and used the Stampin Up stitched framelits to make the shield and the sentiment is a download but I can't remember where from.  I found it lose in one of my card files.

I also used a stars embossing folder to create the background using blue glitter card which I think you can just about see in the photo.

Don't forget to stop by the Design Team Blogs for more superhero inspired creation.

Have a great weekend.

Sandcastle Inn

Hi All.

I am a little late posting this week as we spent most of the school holidays in England visiting my parents.  Also today is my daughters birthday so I have been making her a cake and making decorations.

So now it's time for some weekly Spellbloggers Inspiration.

Today I am showing you the in'spire Sandcastle Inn die from Spellbinders.

I was feeling the need to think about summer as here in France the days are getter better although it is rather cold on a morning.

I cut the Sandcastle from Kraft card stock and cut the tiny flags from glitter card.

I then ripped some more Kraft card into 3 layers to sort of look like sand.  I then used some blue card stock and used the cloud from the D-litres Flight 2 die and used the negative space for the sky.

I then added the sentiment using the Shapeabilites Phrase Two set.

I hope you can stop by next week for more Spellbinders Inspiration.

Shining Star

Hi All,

Its Spellblogger day.  Here I am with some more weekly inspiration.

I fell in love with this die set from Spellbinders its called Lets Party Shining Star.

I think its fabulous for birthdays,  it would make a very sweet baby card and even Christmas.  I think I might need to start one those Christmas cards so I will have to give it a try with a few Christmas colours and designer paper.

To make this card I added a little ink to the centre and blended three colours together and sprayed it with a little water.

I then used the Nestabilities Celebrations Pierced Circle Dies and used the smallest die for the background.  This dies set is fab as you can add in the pierced die later.

In the Lets Party Shining Star set you get the pretty banner and various sizes of star to hang from the banner and also the text.

I die cut the banner using some silver mirror card and the stars were cut from mirror and glitter card.

I then added the text to the bottom and die cut two of the tiniest stars to dot the I's.
I think it makes a very pretty, clean and simple card.  You could even add a few more rows of stars or attached other die cuts to it.

Don't forget to stop by next week for more Spellblogger inspiration and check out the Spellbinders website and browse all the wonderful products.

Some of the dies are half price or less at the moment and they do delivery internationally.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Up and Away

Hello All,

Here I am with another card for the Spellbinders Spellbloggers.

At the moment I loving all the rainbows colours so I wanted to created a card featuring these.

I found some lovely papers from BoBunny called Believe so I used these.

I first made the cloud background using the Flight 2 die set from Spellbinders.  I cut out the clouds in different places on square of white card stock then glued the designer paper to the back so you could see the colours through the space.  I then die cut so more clouds in glitter card and added them using foam pads

I cut the balloon out in white card stock and used it as a stencil and inked the balloon in different colours.  I then cut another balloon from gold card stock just to add more definition.  I finished my balloon using the bunting die which comes in the set.

This set it great for many occasions and I think its very lovely for the men in our lives which I do find very difficult to make.

Have a great day and see you soon for more lovely Spellbinders inspiration.

Bufferly kisses

Hello crafters.

What lovely weather we are having in France today.  Its set to stay all weekend so a lovely start to the Easter Holidays.

I am sharing a card today that I made for the Fiskaettes design team.

All pretty and pastel with just a hint of sparkle.

I used the Fiskars butterfly squeeze punch for this one.  I punched out the butterflies on designer paper and on vellum to give them a softer feel.

I then made a little shaker element to my card and filled it with tiny stars using the same punch.

I am not sure what make the papers are but found them at a local craft shop a while ago but I thought they looked pretty.

If you have Facebook don't forget to stop by the Fiskarettes UK page for more lovely inspiration.

Happy Crafting.

Paper Sweeties

Hello again.

I am just getting caught up with all the lovely inspiration challenge blogs as I go to the UK soon to spend some time with my family.  I saw the challenge at Paper Sweeties and have to give it ago because of  all the lovely bright colours in the inspiration picture.

I made my card bright and cheerful just like the inspiration picture.  As its April and Spring it features some April Showers.

I used a couple of sets from Paper Sweeties.  The stamped sentiment is from the set called Snow Time and the die cut clouds are from the set called Sending Sweet Thoughts.

I used the stitched framelits from Stampin up to create the rainbow and the sun.

A bright and cheerful card for a bright and cheerful day.

Blue skies everywhere today.

April Elemental Inspiration

 Hello Crafters.

Its the first Friday of the month which means its a elemental inspiration challenge at Daring Cardmakers from the lovely Nat this week.

Look at the sweet image.  I hope this will inspire you create some Easter/spring cards
Remember you need to pick at least three elements from the picture.

The elements that I picked were the colours, cake, flowers and the little ducklings.  Well it was how fluffy the ducklings looked that inspired me.

I found some lovely Easter downloads from Printable Heaven which I though were great for the cake element.

The designer papers are a mixture of some digital downloads from The Lovely Studio and a paper pad from Docrafts from their Bellissima Mothers Day Collection.

I made the flower using the In Bloom Squeeze punch from Fiskars.  I then added a fluffy pom pom to the centre.

These punches are so easy to use as you can see exactly where you are punching and the squeeze action makes it even easier.

I hope you can stop by the Design Team Blogs for more inspiration and have a lovely weekend.

Unicorn Fantasy

Hello Everyone.

I would like to share with you today my first card as a Spellblogger for Spellbinders.

When I saw this die set I just had to make a shaker card.  I really love making these cards as they are so much fun.

To make the shaker element I used Nestabilites Celebrations Pierced Circles.  Its a fab set as it comes with separate dies to add the piercing in if you wish.

I then used the Unicorn Fantasy Etched Dies and in the set you get the unicorn, a couple of clouds and the rainbow.

To create the cloudy background I die cut 4 of the clouds and glued them together in a line and inked around them.

I then highlighted the unicorns mane and tail and added a little star as my daughter loves My Little Pony so I thought I should add a cutie mark.

The stars on the rainbow, unicorn and inside the shaker are from a separate die set called Lets Party Shining Star.

I hope you can join my each week where I will be sharing lots of Spellbinders inspiration.

Something Exciting

Hello everyone.

I have some amazing news to share with you today.  Spellbinders have been in touch with me and they have asked me to become a Spellblogger.
This means that I get to play with their amazing dies and post weekly creations to my blog showcasing their fabulous products.

Check out their WEBSITE or click the logo to the right of this post.

Firstly they sent me a new die cutting machine which was the platinum 8.5".  I love it.  It's so stylish and the cutting platforms all fold away saving space on your work surface.

It's heavy due to its construction and the ability to take Spellbinders steel rule dies making it possible to cut through a variety of material.

The platform above shows you how to create your sandwich for the dies and embossing folders.

The cutting platform folds up to allow easy storage.

I am still awaiting my delivery of dies so I can get started on creating my first set of projects.  So keep on eye on my blog and Facebook.

Have a lovely day.

Wrap It Up

Hello All,

We have a fantastic challenge for you at Daring Cardmakers and its called.

Wrap It Up

Enfys our lovely host would like to see some sort of grocery packaging on your creation.  It's a great way of recycling and we can't wait to see what items you use.

I used a bit of a tangerine bag and made a seaside theme card as it looks like netting.

I used some designer paper from Pink Petticoat but now known as The Lovely Studio.

I then stamped out the fish from the jar of love set from Stampin Up and the sentiment is also from the same set.

I stamped the greeting onto a picece of white card cut using the oval stitched framelit dies also from Stampin Up and added some string to frame it.

I hope you will stop by the Design Team blogs and see how they used their rubbish.

Have a lovely weekend.
