Lets here it for the boys.

Only one more week until the summer holidays finish and the new term begins.  My little girl is about to go to big school so feeling a bit proud of her at the moment.  She has grown up way to fast.

 

I can't believe how quickly each week comes around and here we are with another dare at Daring Cardmakers.

 

This week is all about the boys/men in our lives and its Lythans turn to host this weeks dare and as its her Dads birthday she would like to see men's cards.

I have used more gorgeous downloads from Pink Petticoat.  I always find men's cards the hardest.  So kept this nice and clean and no fluff, I do love my embellishments.

Talking Texture

I am a little late with this post but today a new dare started over at Daring Cardmakers. This time its all about texture on your cards.

Kathy is this weeks host and she wants to see lots of texture on your creations.  This could be fabrics, metal, cork, leather anything to make your card interesting to touch.

This is what I came up with.  And yes its Christmas!!

 

For my touchy feely bit I have used some pom pom trim, lace, the snowflake is cut from glittered foam and my ribbon is all glittery too.

 

The papers and sentiment I have used are from Pink Petticoat.  I also just love my Stampin Up star framlits at the moment so I mounted the snowflake onto one cut from glitter card.  Which is hard to see in the photo.

 

I picked the colours of the card to match the challenge over at Merry Monday which was to use pastels.

August Elemental Inspiration

So sorry that I have been missing from Blog Land for a while.  We recently got our son christened so we have been really busy planning it and enjoying the company of family and friends.

The day went really well, the service was so lovely although the weather could have been a bit better but we did manage to spend some time in the garden afterwards.

To this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers.

You need to choose 3 elements from the picture above.  If you look closely there are tonnes of elements you could use.

Here is my card, which I made for my husband as he celebrates his birthday next week.

 

I have used the main colours which look like blue and brown, wood and some corrugated card to match the panel to the left of the picture.

 

My daughter also made a little card for her Daddy using the same picture and a few bits from Mummys stash.

Christmas in July

Its my turn to host this weeks dare over at Daring Cardmakers and guess what its Christmas!!!!

We all need to make a head start with these cards.  I know I have a few to make to post back to the UK.  Its always difficult to start making them early especially when the weather is so sunny and lovely.

So I would like to see your Christmas Cards this week.

Here is mine.

 

I have used my trusted snowflake dies from Spellbinders.  I have inked around it to make the outline then cut one out of blue glittered card.  The backing paper and sentiment are from Pink Petticoat.

I also had to add one of these little jingle bells as a finishing touch.  I think they are very festive and really cute.

July elemental Inspiration

Its the first Friday of the month which means elemental inspiration time over at Daring Cardmakers.

Such a pretty picture this month.

The challenge is to pick at least 3 elements from the image to create your card.

 

I have made a golden wedding anniversary card so the elements I have used are the colour gold, ribbon, organza, flowers and leaves.

I made the flower using circles of organza material and melted the edges to form the shape and added a little bead to the centre.

Ruby Rock It!!

Good morning everyone!  

This week at Daring Cardmakers we are excited today to introduce the first of two sponsored Ruby Rock-It dares!

Here is a little about Ruby Rock-it :

Baby Rock-It!!

The products the DT are using are from the Fundamental range from Ruby Rock-it 

The dare is to make a Baby themed card which has a 'rocking' or 'moving' element to it!

We have this wonderful little prize back from RRBF for one lucky person who completes the dare this week (Winner will be drawn randomly before next weeks dare is revealed)

 

Here is my card

 

 

My moving element is the little pocket with the removable card. 

I also used some of the little wooden arrows and cut up some of the tags to make the bunting.

The cloud paper is from my stash and its been sat on my computer for ages so I have no idea where it came from.
