The Door To......

Its Friday and that means dare time at Daring Cardmakers.  In honour of our changing over government this week in the UK and No. 10 getting a new resident/s Leo would like you to include some kind of opening door feature on your card.

I had loads of die cut snowflakes left over from my daughters birthday party so I had to use them and of course Frozen had to feature in it somewhere.  This is supposed to be the castle at Arendelle the home of Elsa and Anna.

For the door element I stamped the greeting inside. The song "Love is an open door" pops into my head now.

The papers I used are from the Do crafts Christmas Bellissima collection and I coloured the image using promakers.  The image is from My Time Made Easy which you can find HERE.

Elemental Inspiration for May

Sorry I am a little late with this weeks post but my little girl turned Six last week so I have been a little busy mainly trying to get my house back to normal after having a house full of her friends.

She had a great time and this year was Disney's Frozen.  I have also been busy making things for her party.

I made a little centre piece using Spellbinders snowflake die and a Yankee candle jar with some cotton balls

Here are the little favour boxes for the children.  I made sour cream containers and filled them with sweets.  Also below are the cupcake toppers I made to match.

Right down to business.  As it was the first Friday of the month over at Daring Cardmakers its Elemental Inspiration and Lythan has chosen this lovely picture.

So as always you need to pick 3 elements from the picture which inspired your card. For example it could be the colours, theme of the picture or shapes.

I have gone with the main colours of the picture which to me are green and grey.  I have also gone with the theme by using the little girl with the kite.  My 3rd element is the trees.

The stamped image is from Annabelle Stamps and I have paper pieced her dress and hat.  I then stamped the trees from the same set and added some glossy accents.

Under The Weather

I hope you are all having a lovely week.  We have just enjoyed some gorgeous weather here in France.  I am also in the process of party planning.  Its my daughters 6th Birthday party on Sunday and I have lots of crafting and baking to finish off.

Anyway to this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is a weather related get well soon card to cheer someone up!

I picked the sentiment to go with the weather related challenge.

And also some lovely rainbow paper which is from My Time Made Easy.

I then finished with a little paper flower.  Everyone loves flowers when they need to feel better.

Seeing Stars with Stampin Up

I recently had a Stampin Up party where the lovely Karen Taylor came to show us some lovely products.

I decided to buy the star dies.  I like to use stars on my cards as a little added embellishment.  I was buying them on little sticks which was costing a bit and I never used the sticks.  I thought these would do for Christmas and Birthdays.

So I had a little play and here are I few ideas I came up with:

I used one sheet of A4 design paper for all three.  The kraft paper came from the inside of a roll of wrapping paper.

Then I just played about with the stars using some gold glitter card.

Inspired by Arrow!

I hope you have all had a lovely week.  We are enjoying some gorgeous sunshine at the moment which is great as its the school holidays here in France.

Nats challenge at Daring Cardmakers is all about the TV show called Arrow.  I have to confess I have never seen it.  Nat loves this show so this was the inspiration for this weeks dare.

So the dare is to include an arrow on your card.  Also try to include something else from the show like the colour green, the city skyline or even some comic book hero's.

I have three arrows on my card! Can you spot them?
I have also used the colour green for the stars.

The balloon is a digi stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs and the papers were a free download from a craft magazine but I have forgotten which one.

I think I may have to try and watch an episode now just to see what its all about.

I like Pie!!

I completely forgot to wish everyone a Happy Easter last week so I hope you all had a lovely time.  We had a little egg hunt in the garden and went to church on Sunday where my daughter took part in another hunt.

The school holidays have now started here in France and my daughter has 2 weeks off.  I just hope this gorgeous weather continues.

I would also like to say its my Mums Birthday on Sunday so Happy Birthday to you....

So to this weeks dare over at Daring Cardmakers is hosted by Jo and we are asked to use a pie chart or any other mathematical diagram on our cards.  I have gone with a venn diagram.

I used two scalloped circles to make the venn diagram as I didn't have any circle dies.
