Welcome to my Galaxy

Happy Friday everyone.

Its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers and such a fun challenge this week.

Miri our host this week would like to see a galaxy on your cards.

You could create a galaxy as a background or use galaxy elements, stars, gas dust, aliens, astronauts.

To create my card I made an inky galaxy background.

I started in the centre I used a turquoise ink pad.  I then worked my way outwards using yellow and a bit of pink.  I blended a dark blue all around the outside and finished with black just on the edges.  I then sprayed the whole inky area with water and waited for it to dry.

For my gold embellishments I used the Die D-Lites Lets Party Shining Star set.

I cut out the little stars and also the text from the die set.

I loved creating this type of background and each time you make one it never looks the same.

I made this little card for my daughter who finishes school for the summer next week.  I just wanted her to know how proud of her we are.

Just a little reminder that there is only a few days left of the Market Fresh Blog Hop

There is a fantastic selection of dies up for grabs from SPELLBINDERS.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend.

Teachers Gift with Spellbinders

Hi All.

I hope you are enjoying the little Blog Hop we have going for the next few days with Spellbinders. There are some lovely prizes up for grabs.

Here is the link to my previous post with all the details about the hop.

Today I am sharing a little project that I made ready to thank those lovely teachers who have helped our children grown and learn.  My daughter thinks her teacher is fantastic but sadly he is leaving this year and off to teach somewhere else.

So I thought we should make him a little card and gift.

My daughter said he likes his cup of coffee on a morning at the gate so I use that as a starting point.

I first used the Die D-Lites Hipster 1 Set to create the take away coffee cup and sleeve.

I then made the pencil by playing about with the banner from the Die D-Lites Sweet Set

I also wanted to create another school element which was the little chalkboard with thank you stamped inside so I used  the Nestabilities Pierced Circles Set.

I also needed to create a little gift bag as I was thinking of filling it full of coffee sachets.  For the little paper bag I used the Market Fresh Bag N Tag It Etched Die from Debi Adams.

For more details about all the dies used please stop by the Spellbinders website.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely week.

Down To The Sea

What a hot week we have had here in France.  Such a shame it wasn't the summer holidays.  My little girl was a little hot at school this week.  I think they had most of their classes outside under the trees.

Its Friday which means its challenge time over at Daring Cardmakers.  Lythan is our lovely host this week and the theme is Down To The Sea.

This is a picture from Lythans home town which was only 5 minutes from her house.  Isn't it just lovely?

So this week we would like to see your cards inspired by the sea.

I am loving this challenge as I am originally from near Whitby so growing up I was surrounded by the sea.

I was inspired to make a beach hut card using the fabulous set from Stampin up called Home Sweet Home.  The set also has a matching die set and it makes the cutest 3D houses.  I used both the stamps and the Thinlit dies.

I made the sky by inking around a cloud die cut and then added a little bit more colour to look like the sky meets the sea.

I used some kraft card and ripped this into strips to look like sand dunes.

I then finished with a few sequins.

Have a wonderful weekend and don't forgot to stop by the Design Team Blogs for more inspiration.

My Little Boat

Morning all.

What a lovely weekend we had and the hot weather is set to stay for a few more days.

I am sharing my Spellblogger for Spellbinders post a few days early as I really wanted to take part in a sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I haven't joined in many card challenges lately and I saw this sketch and I thought it was really fun.

For this card I used a little set called Die D-Lites Nautical.  In the set you get the boat, an anchor and a little flag.

To create the circles on my card to match the sketch I used the Nesabilities Celebrations Pierced Circles Set.  On the biggest circle I used the optional piercing.

The greeting is from Shapeabilities Simply Said Phrase 2 Set.  I cut this out twice, once from silver mirror card and then from kraft card to create the shadow effect.

To finish I added a little bit of string to the anchor and used the tiny waste dots from the port holes on the boat as little embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by and please check out the Spellbinders website for more details about the dies I have used on todays project.

Ice Cream Sundaes

I hope you are all having a good week.  I have a Spellblogger post to share using fantastic dies from Spellbinders.

I have made a couple of cards this week as I love this little set as its super cute.

Its great for your summer cards (if summer makes an appearance again)

The set I have used is called Die D-Lites Chilled Etched Die.  It comes in a set with an ice lolly as well, which I have used on a previous post.

I used the ice cream and dish for this card.  I just cut the ice cream out using different coloured card and then ran in back through my Platinum Die Cutting Machine using the embossing mats to get the raised edges.

For the second card I used the Chill set again and this time cut the ice cream from white card and used different inks to colour them.  I also cut the tiny cherry that comes in the set from red glitter card.

And of course I had to turn this one into a fun shaker card.  If you look closely you will see that there is a few cherries in the shaker.

The sentiments for both cards are from the set called Shapeabilities Simply Said Phrase 2 die set.

To create the shaker and the dotted area of the first card I used the Nestabilites Celebrations Pierced Circle Dies.

This set is fabulous as you can decide whether to use the nesting circles with or without the pierced details.

A great little set for creating very different looks.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to click the links to check out the dies in more detail.

Paper Straws

Hello Everyone.

Its my turn to host the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and I have picked a dare called

PAPER STRAWS

There are so many different patterns available and I thought in would be fun to add them to your cards this week.

I decided to use them as a frame.  I found these lovely ones with pretty silver stars on them.

I made my card into a shaker card just to add a fun element but anyone that follows my blog will know that I love making this sort of card.

I then added a little pin wheel from a square of designer paper and a placed a sequin in the centre.

I then used a die cut greeting in gold and added a few more sequins.

I hope you can join in this week and I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend.

Pretty Pink Gift Bag

Its a Spellblogger post  today and I am excited to share with you this project.

  My Pretty Pink Gift Bag

I don't very often get to make gift bags but I loved making this one.  I have used lots of lovely dies from Spellbinders

To make the bag I used a 12 x12 inch sheet of double sided designer paper.  I scored on one side at 2", 5 3/4", 7 3/4", 11 1/2" and on the other side at 2" and 10".  Fold all your score lines and then cut up the tabs at the bottom and glue.  Then I folded over the top score line so you can see the paper on the other side.  You can then just lightly pinch in the top of the bag to close it.  As you can see it the picture I used a couple of pegs but you could tie a piece of ribbon around the top or punch a few holes and thread some ribbon through.

I then got to decorate my lovely bag.   I first die cut the white circle using the Nestabilities Celebration Pierced Circles and added a few stars from the Lets Party Shining Star set and the sentiment is from the Shapeabilities Simply Said Phrase 2 set.

I then needed something to close the bag so I used a couple of pegs and the banner from the Lets Party Shining Star set.

Don't forget to click the links to see the products I have used in more detail.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can join me next week for another Spellblogger/Spellbinders project.

Fiskarettes Design Team

Hi all.

Just popping by with my latest Design Team project for the Fiskarettes UK.

I have made a lovely fresh card using the In Bloom Squeeze punch to make the large daisies.
I took each punched flower and cut down the petals and inked the edges.  I then added a little pom pom to the centre which I coloured in orange ink.

I also used the daisy lever punch to make the tiny flowers and the feather squeeze punch to make the leaves.

For my background I used the Cloud Squeeze Punch.  I punched out one cloud and used it as a mask and inked around the edges to create the sky.

Here are a few step by step photos of how I created the flowers.

I hope you can stop by the Fiskarettes UK Facebook page for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

Have a great day.

xXx
