Daring Cardmakers - Special Thoughts

Hello everyone and I am back with my Friday posts with the team at Daring Cardmakers.

Its my turn to host the challenge this week and I wanted to do something special with my Dad in mind as in July he lost his 9 year battle to cancer.

I would like you to make a card in honour of someone special.  Perhaps a card to let them know you are thinking about them.

I made my card in honour of my hero, my Dad.

I love this suite from Stampin' Up! called Come Sail Away.  I think I bought it knowing how much my Dad would love it too.  I also love the beautiful sentiments contained in the stamp set.

My Dad served in the Royal Navy from 1962-1972, my brother also served and so did I.  I followed in their footsteps which made my Dad super proud of us both.

Sharing a few memories.

I love this photo as my Dad couldn't help himself he just had to help me.

This was taken the Christmas before I joined up.  My brother dressed me in his uniform.

Thanks for stopping by today and please head over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

    1. Thank you. I didn't realise at the time I suggested this challenge how tough this was to post. I have had a few tears today. xxx

  2. So very sorry to hear of your Dad, Dawn. I really do feel for you, having lost mine 18 months ago. You obviously honoured and loved him very much. I hope the special memories like this one in the photo bring you comfort as you are able to celebrate his life. God bless you.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I feel your pain as I lost my Mum in March, also to cancer. It feels so unfair... I hope you have good days in between the difficult ones and that you are kind to yourself while you and your family are grieving. Lots of big virtual hugs!
