Zesty Home Decor

Hello everyone and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I have realised that I have a collection of box frames as I keep buying them from our local Action store.  I love it in there as they also stock my favourite cleaning products by the brand Fabulosa.  I think I can officially call myself an Action fan.  So today I have another home décor piece to share with you, using one of the many box frames I have.

I have used the fun and zesty Sweet Citrus stamp set along with the matching die set.  You can also get the coordinating embossing folder to give the lemons loads of dimension.

I have created a wreath to put inside the frame and added a die cut sentiment in the centre.

This actually hangs in my entrance hall way to welcome visitors and the summer months.

I also added some more foliage to the wreath using the Lighting The Way stamps and matching dies.

I  added a few table diamonds to the inside of the frame to add lots of sparkle and a few gems.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day.

Daring Cardmakers - Men Folk Inspired

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Its my turn to host this weeks challenge and as its nearly fathers day I would like to see some masculine inspired projects.

It doesn't have to be for Fathers Day but I do know as a crafter this type of card I always struggle with.

My brother has a big birthday coming up so I thought I would use this challenge to create a card.  ( I hope he doesn't see my post)

I have used the brewed for you set from Stampin up to create the glasses of lager.  I then used the rays of light stamp to make the number stand out, just to remind him of how old he is, lol.  I then used the brick and mortar embossing folder to add some texture to the card.

Have a lovely weekend and to all the Father figures out there, have a great Fathers Day on Sunday.

My Dad will always be in my heart and I miss him everyday day.

Daring Cardmakers - Everything's Coming Up Roses

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Joanne is our lovely host this week and as roses are the birth flowers for June, would like to see roses on your card.  But if you are not in the mood for flowers, yellow roses symbolises friendship so you could perhaps feature something yellow on your project.

I didn't use roses but I did use yellow flowers.

Also my apologises for the absence last week but I had hurt my shoulder at work so crafting was a little difficult.  I also seemed to have followed my own inspiration from a previous challenge and made another wreath.

I have used the fabulous Cup Of Tea stamps from Stampin Up to create the wreath.  I then didn't want to leave the background plain so I used an embossing folder.

I love wreaths on cards or even as a home décor piece.  As long as you have a good stamp and die set with lots of foliage you can create one.

Box Frame Flowers

 Hello everyone.

I thought I would share a blog post before my children return from school and I have been sitting on this project for a while.  I think I did share it a while ago over on my Facebook page.

As the weather is now more summery I thought it would be nice to post it here as its such a bright and cheerful project.  But as I type this we are now having a thunderstorm.

I have made this pretty box frame filled with lots of paper flowers.

Most of the flowers are made using Spellbinder dies but the small daisies were made using a Fiskars punch.

I do like to sit on evening and die cut lots of flowers then just sit and put them together.  Its lovely and relaxing.  You can put them away to use later on a card or do as I have and make some lovely home décor pieces.

The box frame was one I had in the house, I think it came from Hobby Craft a long time ago.  I do like to switch out my pictures and using these box frames is great for that as you don't have to worry about the project getting squashed.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Daring Cardmakers - Seashells on the Seashore

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Rizwana is our lovely host this week and would like to see seashells on your projects.  You could use stamped images, dies or even some real seashells.

I seem to have a lot of beach/sea themed stamps and dies so I used the friends are like seashells set from Stampin Up which is now retired.  I created a wreath of seaweed and shells to frame the piece of designer series paper from the retired by the bay.

I then added a ships wheel which is from the retired sailing home set.  But guess what the sentiment and the die I have used is not retired, its from the waves of inspiration set.

I have then added some faux sea glass and a little bling.

Daring Cardmakers - Sunshine

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Miri is our lovely host this week and would like to see the sun or the suns rays on your projects.

This could be as the focal point, in the background or as part of a scene.

I have used this amazing background stamp from Stampin Up called Ray of Light.  I wanted to create a pretty scene with clouds and rainbows so I used the cloud border die from Lawn Fawn along with the a rainbow die which was also from Stampin Up.

I added a little bling and a sentiment to finish the card.  The sentiment fit perfectly where the sun was and I thought the phrase was so appropriate for this project.  A cute card to send just because.

Have a lovely weekend.

Daring Cardmakers - Crowning Glory

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Kathy is our lovely host this week and would like to see the crowning glory on your projects this week.  This could be that extra panache that makes something look really special.  As the UK has also celebrated the coronation of King Charles, you could perhaps add a crown to your cards.

I have made this cute unicorn card and I have made a crown of daisies with a little extra bling.

I really love this die.  Its from First Edition and its called Build A Unicorn.  You get all the separate elements to create the unicorns face but I didn't use the flower dies included.  I used a daisy punch from Fiskars to create the flowers.  I love to sit and make a whole bunch of paper flowers whilst watching the TV on an evening, then I have them to use on future projects.

I finished the card with a small stamped greeting to the bottom.  I also added a little bit of bling to make the flower crown a bit more sparkly.

Have a lovely weekend.
