What A Wonderful World

Hello everyone and I hope you have had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Its Friday so that means its challenge time from Daring Cardmakers.  This weeks challenge is hosted by the lovely Kathy who has picked her favourite song as your inspiration this week.

What a Wonderful World
Louis Daniel Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

Songwriters: George Douglas / George David Weiss / Bob Thiele

For my card I was inspired by the line "The colours of the rainbow so pretty in the sky".

I started with a square of white card stock to create my colourful background.  I selected lots of colours of inks and blended them together and flicked a little water over the top.  I put this to one side and started to die cut my rainbow.

I used a die that I recently bought from Craftelier by Lawn Fawn.  I had the phrase "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain" going around in my head in order to get the correct colours but I had to use gold and pink instead.  Once I had my rainbow cut out I glued this to the front of my card.

I then used another die from Craftelier and Lawn Fawn to create these lovely fluffy cloud borders.  I cut the clouds from white and white glitter card stock.

I then finish with a little stamped sentiment from Paper Sweeties called Snow Time.  Its from a Christmas stamp set but I thought this sentiment suited the card perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out how in the Design Team over at Daring Cardmakers were inspired.

  2. Love the cloud border, the glittery rainbow and the inky background looks fab! You’re right about the sentiment, no reason that can only be a Christmas one!
