Special Lady or Mothers Day

Hello everyone and happy Friday.

Its challenge time again at Daring Cardmakers.

Nat is our lovely host this week and as its Mothers Day in the UK this weekend the challenge is to create a card to celebrate a special women in your life.  It doesn't have to be a Mothers day card as it could be a card for a special friend.

I went along the special friend route as I posted my card to my Mam a while ago.

I have friends that are crafters and I wanted to let them know how important they are to me and how much they inspire me to create and share.

I decided to use the stamp set called Crafting Forever from Stampin' Up!

I thought the set was perfect to send to a crafty friend.

I stamped the scissors from the set in a row then I fussy cut another pair and coloured the handles orange as I do love my Fiskars scissors.

I then used one of the greetings from the set which worked perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out all the lovely inspiration from the Design Team over on the blog at Daring Cardmakers.

Aperture Card

Hello everyone.

I made this card before I had the Stamparatus and without it I realised how difficult it was to line up the stamps.  I few ended up in the bin.

I will give it another go later but this time using the Stamparatus from Stampin Up.

I will pop a link to the Stamparatus at the end of this post as I am finding it so much easier now to create perfect stamped images.

To created the card I started by inking around the edges of the card using different shades of blue.

I wanted to the card to look lighter as the ink blending got closer to the centre.

I then cut the aperture in the card using the Follow Your Dreams Bundle.

Next I took a second piece of card and stamped the dream catcher but made sure that it lined up within the aperture.

I then added a few more details with the flowers and feathers.

I placed foam squares all over the back of the aperture piece to give the card more dimension.

I then used the "dream" word and die cut 3 and glued these on top of each other to create a stacked die cut.  I then cut out a fourth and added versamark ink to this and heat embossed in gold.

I glued this onto the stacked die cutes and placed this over the aperture.

I really like using stacked die cuts on a card.  It makes the greeting stand out.  I then finished the card with a few sequins.

Pretty Flower Tags

Hello Crafters.

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I have been busy creating gift tags to share with your today using the very pretty Incredible Like You stamp set.

I made these pretty blooms for the tags using the stamp that looks like a leaf and the little centre.  I thought it looked like a sunflower.

I then went on to create a few more in Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Lovely Lipstick.

The tags would look so pretty attached to some simple wrapping or attached to a kraft coloured gift bag.

They took no time at all to make and would even make a lovely card topper.

Daring Cardmakers - Recycle

Good Morning and welcome to another fun Friday challenge from Daring Cardmakers.

Svenja is our lovely host this week and would like to see something recycled on your projects.

I think I may have misread the brief as I haven't made a card this time.

I have created a home décor piece using an old embroidery hoop.

My Mother In Law volunteers at an animal charity shop and brought the hoop home for me.  She thought I might be able to do something with it which was great for this weeks challenge.

I have attached some organza to the inside and added the little Home Sweet Home message and dotted about a few sequins.

I then decorated the edge using a sunflower die from Spellbinders and a daisy punch from Fiskars.

Its so pretty and very delicate and a great edition to any home.

Please stop by the design team blogs over at Daring Cardmakers for more lovely inspiration.  We can't wait to see what you create.

Have a great day and a lovely weekend.

More Black and Gold

Hello everyone.

I really do like black and gold as a colour combination so I thought I would share another card using the same suite as Mondays Blog post.

I also had a few scraps left over of the matching designer series paper so I though I would use those up.

I am really bad for keeping tiny scraps of designer series papers so I thought this card was a great way to use up those little bits.

I even managed to use a Christmas set called Making Christmas Bright.  I just love the starry wreath,

I made the card fairly simple which will appeal to all ages.  I love the font of the die cut word "wish" and I added a drop shadow in some gold card stock.

I then added a few stars which are also from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you wish to view the products in more detail then please head over to the Stampin' Up! website.

Have a lovely day.

Stylish Black and Gold

Hello Crafters and welcome to another fun week of creativity.

I have a stylish black and gold birthday card to share today which I thought would be great for any male relations that we may have.

I really struggle with these kinds of cards and as I have two nephews it makes it very difficult to come up with something fun for them

This is why I love the set called Broadway Birthday as it seems to cater for everyone.

I also used some of the designer series paper which also has added gold foiling on one side.

The Broadway Bound Suite is fabulous.  Everything coordinates perfectly and you can even get tiny candles to add to your projects.

Please check it out HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely start to your week.

Daring Cardmakers - Stitch It

Hello everyone.

I hope everyone is well and ready for another weekly challenge.

Its Shabneez turn to host the challenge over at Daring Cardmarkers.

Shabneez would like to see some stitching on your creations and this could real or faux.

I kind of cheated with my card and went with some dies that already had a stitched edge.

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies from Stampin' Up! for the centre square and added some pretty stamped images using a set called Incredible Like You.

I think you can see a little better in the bottom photo the tiny stitched edge on the square.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out what the Design Team created for more lovely inspiration over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Have a lovely weekend.
