For a sweet friend

A friend of mine is having a tough time lately so thought I would make a card just to let her know we are thinking about her.

I wanted to make this card as bright and cheerful as I could.  I think I may have made it rather loud in colour but I hope is does the trick.

I have used digi stamp from Pink Gem Designs and the papers were a free download from Papercraft Inspirations called No Place Like Home.  Its not a new home card but I loved the tree paper.

The paper flowers are made using the Rose Creation die from Spellbinders.

This card is for the following challenges:

The Ribbon Girl : August colour challenge

Pink Gem Challenge Blog: Challenge 53 Animals or Teddies

My summer garden

Just a few photos to brighten up your day of my garden.

Say It In.......Shades of Blue

Did everyone have a lovely weekend?  We were invited to friends yesterday for a lovely BBQ and the weather was fantastic.

I hope my last post all made sense about how I make paper flowers.  Its difficult when you have to write down how you do something but I hope all the photos helped.

Here is today's card.

The challenge at Annabelle Stamps is to use shades of blue.  I have used papers from Pink Petticoat.  The backing card is in pebble and I have used air force blue and turquoise in the spotty paper.

The sentiment is from a clear stamp set I have, so I just stamped it directly onto the card and the flower digi stamp is one from Pink Petticoat.  I have used promarker to colour it in and added some gems.

The paper flower is made from scrunched up die cut scalloped circles and I have added a flower shaped brad to the centre.  I have also used die cut scalloped circles for the topper to mat and layer.

The layout of the card is for the challenge at Sweet Stop Sketches.

Spellbinders Rose Creations

Here it is my first tutorial on how I make my little roses using Spellbinders Rose Creation die.  I sometimes sit whilst watching the TV just making these little flowers using scraps of card.

Step one: Using your die cutting machine cut out 4 flower shapes.

Step two: To make the centre.

Take two of your flowers and using the end of a ball tool or something with a flat bottom push it into the centre of your flower.  This will make the petals stand up.

Then take each petal and cup them.

Next take one of the flowers and glue the opposite petals together.

Then glue all the other petals to this to make your centre bud.

Now glue your bud into the centre of the other flower, like this:

and glue all the petals to the bud.

Step three: To make the outer petals.

Take the last two flowers and again push down the centres to make the petals stand up.  Then take a cocktail stick and curl the top edgesof the petals over.

Turn your petal over and using your ball tool or something similar cup each petal around it.

Take your bud and glue into the centre.  Put a dot of glue on each petal and push the petals up in place around the bud.

Then glue your last flower into place around what you have just done.

And here it is your finished flower:

Happy Birthday Cupcake

This week over at Cupcake Craft Challenge its their 4th Birthday!!!! So in celebration this weeks challenge is to use the photo below for inspiration. Aren't these cake pops yummy?

Here is my card

I thought I would use more kraft card.  I just love how bright the pink looks against it.  The keep calm and eat cupcakes topper came from a free download at Pink Petticoat, HERE.

I have used some glitter on the cupcake for the frosting which was a free gift in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine issue 97.

The layout for the card is taken from Mojo Monday challenge 254.

This card is also for the challenge at Love to Create and the challenge is to use sparkle.

Say It With Colours on Kraft

I managed another little bike ride today, thought I'd better as I sat and ate loads of nuttella by the spoon full, which wasn't a good idea but it just so nice.

Anyway its time for another brilliant challenge at Annabelle Stamps.  I don't use kraft much and thought I would give this ago.

The challenge is to use Kraft with colour.  I have added colour to my image with glitter.  I only own two sets of promarkers and both sets are pastel colours which wouldn't show up so out came the glitter.  I love a bit of sparkle.

The papers were a free download but I have forgot from where as I have had them for ages and the image is from Pink Petticoat.  You can probably tell that I have used this image alot but I just love it!!

The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps and I have added some ribbon.

The layout is taken from the sketch challenge over at The sweet Stop.

Flying High!!!

Well I managed my bike ride with my little girl in the gorgeous sunshine.  All 19km, I was shattered when I got home its hard work pulling your toddler along in her little bike trailer.  Just wish I had taken my camera as I saw some gorgeous dragonflies.

After completing my previous post with a gorgeous digi from Fresh Brewed Designs I thought I would make another card using the same papers but with a different lay out taken from Mojo Monday.

And here it is:

The card is for the following challenges:

Say It In.....

Just checked the weather forecast and some nice weather is on its way for France, so might get out on my bike with my little girl and go for a picnic at the end of the week.  There is some lovely cycle paths where I live.

Anyway down to business.  Here is my card for the say It In challenge at Annabelle Stamps.

The image is from Annabelle Stamps and I have tried to make it look like the little girl is holding the flower on some string.  I have used papers from Pink Petticoat in New Leaf and Gold and added some red to the image using glitter.

The sentiment reads 'Friendship in Bloom'  I have also used cream card to mat and layer the image.

This card is also for the following challenges:

My Time Made Easy - design team call

The lovely people over at My Time Made Easy are having a design team call and thought I would give it a try.

Here are the sketches you had to use:

and the colour palettes I have used are olive, sky blue and chocolate - Pretty Palette week 61 and orange, aqua and kraft - Pretty Palette week 60.  I wanted to be able to design one of the cards for a male and I felt pretty palette week 61 would do that.

Here I have used kraft paper to mat and layer the image, along with some aqua coloured glitter and a bow. The digital image is from Pink Petticoat and I have used promarkers and glitter to colour the image.

Here I have used chocolate for the base card and the stamped images are from Kanban.  I have used promarkers and paper pieceing for the cakes.

Kraft at Christmas

Just a quickie post and a Christmas card for the challenge at A Gem of a Challenge. This weeks challenge is to make a Christmas card using kraft.

I have used stamps from Annabelle stamps and added some little gems and the papers are from Pink Petticoat.

I have mat and layered the card using kraft paper and the Christmas tree has been heat embossed in gold.  I think this makes a very simple card.
