Rays of Light and Lighting the Way

Hello everyone.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

Todays project combines two products that have both got the word light in the description and were just begging to be used on one project.  I  did share this one a while ago to my Facebook page and forgot to add it to my blog.

I used two colours for the card smoky slate and daffodil delight along with a bit of silver.

I used the Rays Of Light stamp to add the glow from the lamp.  This is just a fantastic background stamp and a must have for your stash.  I then die cut the lamp from the Lighting The Way bundle.  I placed the lamp over the section where the light shines outwards so it gave the lamp a huge glow.

I finished the card with a sentiment and a die cut fire fly and used some vellum for the wings.

I also didn't like all the flat grey so I broke this up by using the Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder.

Daring Cardmakers - Around the house

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Joanne is our lovely host this week and would like to see an household object feature on your creations.

(e.g. foil from the kitchen, dry wall tape from the tool box, scrape a design into paint with the prongs of a fork) or use an image of a household object as your focal point (e.g. a TV, a food mixer, a games console)

I decided to use some furniture on my card.

I had to dig deep into my craft stash and found a stamp set from Papermania called Chatsworth House.  I wanted to use something other than a tea cup so I had to do a bit of searching.

I have had this set for at least 10 years and it still stamps.  I used the lamp and chair from the set along with a sentiment.  I thought this would make a great new home card.

I made my card really clean and simple and added a little pop of colour.  I also went with a tall slim card.

The set also has a stunning birdcage and a chandelier.

Is there any stamps in your stash that you haven't used in a while?

Have a lovely weekend.

Brewed For you with Rays Of Light

Hello everyone and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Its very cold here this morning, it was -6 on the school run but its turning out to be a lovely sunny day.

I was feeling in the mood to create some masculine cards so I have pulled out the Brewed For You Bundle.  I love this stamp set as its got some great stamped images of pint and wine glasses, so its actually great for everyone.

I wanted my card to be more masculine so I decided to use smoky slate for my base card.  I then used the Rays Of Light stamp for the background to the beer and lager glasses.  I also used a retired embossing folder to add a little texture but any embossing folder would work.

I then added a stamped sentiment from the same set to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by again soon.

Daring Cardmakers - Viva Magenta

 Hello everyone.

Welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.
This week our lovely host is Rizwana.

Pantone Colour of the year is Viva Magenta. This rich and exuberant colour promotes joy and optimism. Use all or hints of this colour to create your card by taking inspiration from nature.
So we would like to see some magenta on your creations this week.

I have just used a little bit on my card but the colour is actually called magenta madness so I knew I was using the right shade of pink.
I used the Pansy Patch Bundle to create my card.   I must start wearing my glasses more when I craft as some of the die cuts are not straight, I can see a bit of white poking through.

I also used an embossing folder called Brick and Mortar to break up the white.

I managed to use some gems in the magenta colour which I grabbed from the clearance section before they sold out. You all know I like my bling to finish a card.

Have a lovely weekend.

Home décor using lighting the way

 Hello everyone.

I just love to be able to create home décor pieces using the fabulous stamps and dies and other products from Stampin Up.  Sometimes as a crafter its nice to be able to create something other than a card.  I have done just that today and made a lovely framed piece for my home.

I really love the modern farmhouse look with all the neutral colours and I think I have taken my inspiration from all the lovely items I have seen in peoples homes on You Tube.

I used the foliage stamps from the Lighting The way bundle.  I stamped them in crumb cake, soft succulent and evening evergreen.  I then created a wreath and stamped the sentiment into the centre.

The box frame I bought from Action and it was only about 3 euros.

This is one of my favourite things I have made for my home so far.

I hope to change the interior of my home little by little and go for a more neutral colour palette with lots of cosy textures.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by again soon.

Daring Cardmakers - New year - New Craft Supplies

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the Daring Cardmakers team.

Did any of you receive new craft items for Christmas?  This weeks challenges is about using your new craft supplies.  Or perhaps you have a craft product that you have not used before and its been sat in your craft stash waiting to be used.  This is a great challenge to break out those products.

I have used new products and they were free.

I have used the Thanks a Bunch stamp set which is free during Sale A Bration.  I think this is the first time I have used a vegetable on a card.  I thought they would look really cute growing in a tea cup.  I used the Cup Of Tea bundle for that.

I thought this card would be great for a gardener or just to welcome in spring.  I am so looking forward to the change of weather and the lighter mornings.

Thanks for stopping by today and please head over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

Have a lovely weekend.

Lighting The Way - port and starboard

 Hello everyone.

As the new catalogue is now live I thought I would share another project using the Lighting The way Bundle.

I do think that this little gem of a stamp and die was over looked as its just got some many crafty possibilities.

For this card I have gone with a nautical theme.

I have created port and starboard signal lanterns using some red and green mirrored cardstock.  My Dad had some of these in my childhood home as décor pieces.  They look a little bit different to this but when I saw the lantern dies I just had to see if I could create them.

I teamed the lanterns up with the gorgeous Waves Of Inspiration Bundle and stamped the wave from the set to use as the background of my card.

I then finished the card with a stamped greeting and added an embossed piece of card stock to the back.  I have used the wood planks embossing folder which is retired now but we do have a new version called Timber 3d embossing folder which would work as well.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop again where I will have more inspiration to share using this amazing set.

Daring Cardmakers - January Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and welcome back to the weekly challenges from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

We all hope you had an amazing Christmas break and we are back with more fun challenges to help with your creativity.

So lets get started with the first challenge of the year which is the elemental inspiration challenge.

You just need to pick 3 elements from the image below.

I picked the colours, the circle shape of the spoon and some foliage.

I have used the brilliant Brewed For You bundle for my card.  I have used the bottle and the pint glass to feature on my card along with the hops from the dies.

I always struggle with the more masculine type of cards and this one is great to add to my card stash.

Thanks for stopping by today and please head over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mini Catalogue January - April Sneak Peek

 Hello everyone.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and an amazing start to the New Year.

I am super excited today to be able to bring you the new mini catalogue.

Don't forget it goes live tomorrow.

For todays project I have used the stunning Lighting the way bundle.  This bundle just jumped right out to me as I loved the fire flies and the lantern.  I must admit that I did look at Pinterest to see if there was any inspiration using this set but I found hardly anything.  This was great for me as it gave me the opportunity to provide lots of inspiration using this set for my lovely followers and customers.  If you saw any of my social media I did share a few projects that I had made with this set.

I got lovely and inky for this card and used the blending brushes to add lots of shades of blue to the card and then a little yellow to the centre of the lantern.  I then stamped the branches and fire flies in black and added the little glow to the tails of the fire flies.

I wanted the lantern to look like it was hanging in the tree.

I finished the card with some pretty gems and a little gingham bow.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop again where I will have more inspiration to share using this amazing set.
