Daring Cardmakers - One Word Prompt - BAUBLE

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

This is our last challenge before the Christmas break and we have another word prompt which is BAUBLE or tree ornament.

I used the retired set called decorated with happiness from Stampin Up as I wanted to create a card with baubles hanging in the tree.

I used glitter card for the ornaments and paper pieced each one so I could make them very sparkly and in lots of colours.

I finished my card with a scattering of sequins and a stamped sentiment.

I just want to wish you all a very happy Christmas and all the best for 2024.

Thank you for joining in this year with all the challenges from the team at the Daring Cardmakers and we will see you all in the New Year.

Daring Cardmakers - Word Prompt - LIGHT

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

I am very late posting my card this week and I also missed out on last weeks challenge.  I have been poorly these last couple of weeks and I have been left with a very annoying cough.

I just wanted to share a quick post showing this weeks word prompt which was LIGHT.

How does this word inspire you?

I made this cute hot chocolate stand using a die set I bought from our local Action store.  The set included lots a tiny dies but when put together made this cute scene.  The set also included a string of Christmas LIGHTS.  I spent some time cutting each one out in different colours of glitter card.  Thank goodness for my pick up tool.

Don't forget to stop by Friday for another festive challenge from the team.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Daring Cardmakers - Word Prompt - WISH

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Lets continue with the festive challenges and the word prompts.  So this week the word is WISH.  How does this word inspire you?

Anything goes and it doesn't have to be for Christmas.

I created a letters to Santa inspired card.  I thought all these letters could contain what might be on children's wish lists for Christmas.

I used the Parcel and Post stamps and dies from Spellbinders.  The set comes with a post box and lots of foliage, you can then buy the Christmas add on die set.  I also bought the coordinating stamps as you get several different greetings for all occasions along with the cute letter.

Don't forget to stop by next week and we will have another festive challenge for you.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely weekend.

Hello Everyone - We are back on line

 Hello everyone.

I just wanted to share a little post to explain my recent absence.  I disappeared for 3 weeks as we have been without our phone line due to the recent storm here in Brittany, France.  The area suffered lots of damage and lots of homes including ours were without power and telephone.  Thankfully we are now back up and running so I am going to make this a little catch up post with my projects so far for the Daring Cardmakers.

The last two challenges from the team were word prompts.

So the first one was COSY.

I decided to make a COSY winter scene shaker card.  I used a gumball machine die set and added the little die cut house inside.  I really love the white ceramic houses and I managed to get some this year for my Christmas home décor and they light up.  These make me feel all festive and COSY.

This weeks word prompt was WOOD and you still have time to enter the challenge.

I made some festive gift tags and used some wooden letter tiles and wood effect designer series paper.  I love the rustic feel to these and they would also look pretty hanging in your Christmas tree.

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow as normal business will resume and I will be sharing the latest challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers

November Elemental Inspiration - Daring Cardmakers

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Its time to get all festive with the team and make a start on this years Christmas projects.  Each week up until Christmas we will have a festive inspired challenge for you but to kick things off this week we have the monthly elemental inspiration challenge.

Remember to pick at least 3 elements from the image below and you can make anything from cards, to tags and gifts.  So anything goes.

For this weeks project I picked a bit of plaid, woodgrain, some oranges and foliage.

To make the oranges I used the Sweet citrus set from Stampin up.  I then added some festive foliage using the retired decorated with happiness set and holly came from the parcel and post set from Spellbinders.

I love the rustic and cosy feel to my card.

Don't forget to stop by next week and we will have another festive challenge for you.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely weekend.

Daring Cardmakers - Shimmer and Shine

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Shabneez is our lovely host this week and loves sparkle just has much as me.  So this week add some shimmer and shine to your projects using gems, glitter, mirri card etc..

A card isn't complete until you add some bling (well in my opinion)

As Halloween is just around the corner I have made a spooky card.

I used the lantern die from the lighting the way set from Stampin Up and covered this in Verdigris embossing powder from WOW to give it a patina look.

I then used a retired set from Stampin Up called Sparkle of the Season to create the wreath and added the bats and pumpkins from the same set.

I also used some vertical striped paper for the base as I thought it added to the spooky vibe.

I then finished the card with a sentiment and of course some bling.

Daring Cardmakers - Alphabet Soup

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Nat is our lovely host this week and would like you to use your alphabet dies or stamps on your project.  So your challenge is to create a sentiment on your card using those.

I have shared an older card that I had made but I didn't blogged about it. ( If I am honest time just escaped me this week)

I have used an alphabet die set from Spellbinders that I have had in my stash for ages.  This set has a block style font and is great for all cards of projects.

At the time when I made this card my son was wanting a video game themed party so I made his card with a fun sentiment.  I also die cut all the game controllers and made them as a background on the card.  I think they really pop on the black base.

If you saw last weeks post where I made an Nintendo Switch card you can tell that my son likes these themed birthdays so he has asked for another one this time around.

Daring Cardmakers - Fun and Games

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Joanne who has chosen a theme about fun and games.  This could be an indoor game, like a board game or an outdoor game, perhaps football or ruby etc..

I don't own any type of game craft products so I decided to make a game console card and made an Nintendo switch.

I used what punches and dies I had in my stash to create the base card and all the different buttons.  I am going to keep this card for my sons birthday as he loves to play Minecraft on his.

I hope to make a few more gaming style party items so I need to get my thinking cap on for his birthday in a couple of months time.

Daring Cardmakers - October Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

As its the first Friday of the month we have an elemental inspiration challenge hosted by the lovely Shabneez who has selected the image below to spark your creativity.

Remember to pick 3 elements from the picture to be used on your project.

I picked the colours, a tortoise, flower and the block stripes from the top right.

I have used this cute little tortoise and matching punch to create the card.  I added a little bit of ink to the background first and then stamped the foliage.

I also added a cute flower so the tortoise  is ready to celebrate a big birthday,  they do live until a ripe old age.

Daring Cardmakers - Under and Over, Repeat

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Kathy is our lovely host this week and would like to see some sort of weaving on your card.  This could be from strips of paper, a stamp or an embossing folder with an woven pattern or perhaps some woven fabric.

I had a go at paper weaving.  This is something I remember doing at school when I was child.  I then thought it looked like a  fruit basket so I added lots of fruit to my card and then a cocktail as you use fruit to make cocktails.  Now I need a cocktail as its nearly the weekend.

I then added some bling and a fun sentiment.

Daring Cardmakers - Always Autumn/Forever Fall

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Its my turn to host the challenge and I have picked a theme of Autumn/Fall. I love this time of year and all months that end in BER.  This time of year is perfect to get cosy at home.  So please share your cosy autumn/fall themed cards this week.

So grab yourself your favourite autumn drink and get creating.

I decided to use a wreath of leaves on my card with lots of lovely autumn colours.

I have used a retired set from Stampin Up called Sparkle of the Season to create the wreath on my card.

The little die cut mushrooms came from a set from a shop called Action and I decided to use black as my base card as I think the colours look stunning against it.

I then added some gems and a sentiment to finish the card along with some extra leaves.

Daring Cardmakers - Take a Break

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Miri is our lovely host this week and would like you to share something on your card that you do when you take a break.  This could be a nice cup of tea or coffee or perhaps a walk in the country.

For me it would have to be a holiday to a tropical island all by myself and just have some time for me to relax and deal with everything that has happened and is happening in my life.

We spent the summer school holidays at home this year so a nice holiday would be lovely.

I have used a stamp and die called sweet citrus from Stampin Up which is actually a set that contains lemons.  I stamped the outer layer in brown to look like a coconut and coloured the centre slighting with a light grey marker.

The tropical leaves came from a Spellbinders die set that I had in my stash.  I also used a retired designer series paper set called By The Bay as the piece I used looked like the beach.

Daring Cardmakers - Collage It

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

I am so late sharing my post for this challenge which is hosted by the lovely Rizwana who would like you to feature a collage on your projects this week.

This is great challenge to use it all my small pieces of designer paper that you hold onto because they are to pretty to put in the bin but sometimes to small for a card.

I had these pretty bee papers with lots of gold foiling so I used a hexagon shaped die and cut lots of different designs out and glued them to the base of the card.  I picked the hexagon shape so it looked like honey comb.  From the same paper I also die cut the bees and added those.

I finished the card with a some bling and a simple stamped sentiment.

Have a great week.

Daring Cardmakers - September elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Nat who has selected this gorgeous image below for the September elemental inspiration challenge.

Remember to use at least 3 elements on your creation and happy crafting.

I picked the colours, foliage, lemons, wood grain and tea cups.

I used a piece of woodgrain designer series paper for the base of my card.  I then added the tea cups using a retired set from Stampin Up called Cup of Tea and the sentiment came from a set called Sweet Citrus.

I also added a few lemons and a little tea bag label which are also from the Cup of Tea set.

Some of my most used stamps and dies are the ones containing cups or are coffee themed as I think they are great for all kinds of occasions.

Zesty Christmas

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Now that the summer is coming to an end I can finally think about my favourite seasons, Autumn (fall) and Christmas.  Well is Christmas classed as a season maybe I should have said Winter.

I wanted to share a project with you that uses a summer feeling stamp and die set.  I was inspired by the festive scents of Christmas when I made this card.

I used the Sweet Citrus bundle from Stampin Up to make the orange slices.  I then used the foliage from the decorated with happiness set which is also from Stampin up.  I also used another die from Spellbinders called parcel and post for the little red berry and gold stems.  All I needed for this card was a little bit of cinnamon and it would have the perfect festive fragrance.

I also used an embossing folder to add some festive interest to the base of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Daring Cardmakers - Billions of Butterflies

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our love host this weeks is Shabneez who has chosen the theme of butterflies.

I bet every crafter has some sort of butterfly in their craft stash.  I was quick to pull this beauty of a die from my stash which I haven't used for forever.

I wanted the die to be the star of my card as its so intricate and the large butterfly cuts so that it pops up.

I then decided to paper piece some foil card into the design just to add a little colour.

I also added some bling to the centre of the flowers within the die and finished with a greeting.

Daring Cardmakers - Pearls

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Kathy who would like to something pearl on your project.  This could be flat backed pearls, pearlescent paint, etc..

I used some pearlescent card stock.  You cannot tell in the photo its definitely pearly.

I am still feeling the festive crafting mood and thought if I make one a week, whether that be for a challenge or just for my stash, I will have enough come December.

I forgot I had these papers from My Minds Eye called Sugar Plum.  One of the sheets I had left had this lovely winter scene and I knew there was a reason I put it aside.  Just look how pretty it is.

I made a lovely frame using the Snowman Magic dies from Stampin Up as this piece of designer paper needed to be the main focus.

I finished the card with a sentiment and some bling.

Daring Cardmakers - All Taped Up

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Joanne who would like to see some tape used on your projects.

I picked the easy option and used washi tape.  But I have been using masking tape a lot lately as I have been re painting our whole house interior.

I had to dig deep into my crafting stash as I don't normally use washi tape.  I managed to find a candy striped one and a glitter.  I then thought of Christmas and candy canes, so I made a festive card.

I added a few strips of the washi tape to my base card but I just torn them rather than cutting.

I then added a candy cane and some holly die cuts to the front along with a festive greeting.

The washi made a really quick card and without the weight of designer series paper.

Daring Cardmakers - August Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

This week our lovely host is Joanne with the elemental inspiration challenge.  Joanne wanted us to re visit an older challenge from the same month but from 2015.  I will post my original card at the end as I am curious to see how my style has changed.

Remember to use at least 3 elements on your card.  I have picked the colours with a pop of red, heart, frame and a cup.

I used the Cup Of Tea set which is now retired from Stampin Up to create the main topper of my card.  I also cut a frame using some stitched rectangle dies and added a piece of designer series paper to the base of the card.

Now lets re visit my card from 2015 from the very same challenge.

CLICK HERE to be taken to the post.

I have still used a piece of designer series on the base card but used spots instead of stars. Back in 2015 I also didn't have a lot of craft supplies and the star dies I have used were one of my first purchases from Stampin Up and I still have them.

Daring Cardmakers - Bon Voyage

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Are you off on your travels this summer or perhaps you have already?  This weeks challenge is to create a card to wish someone a happy holiday and create a travel themed card.

I have used the Beautiful World stamp and die set from Stampin Up to create my card.  I have die cut the globe but I used some soft colours for the sea and land.  I have made my card very clean and simple.

I also used the compass stamp and dotted them around to break up the white space.  I then added the sentiment to wish you a fabulous adventure on your holiday.
