Daring Cardmakers - Be Happy

Hello everyone and welcome to the challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Shabneez is our lovely host this week and would love to see the word "HAPPY" on your creations this week as happiness is so important to everyone.

I created a card for my stash that I think would be great to send to anyone, but I was mainly thinking of a more masculine make when I made this.

I have used the stamp set called Biggest Wish.  I love this set as it has two different kind of fonts and I love to overlap the fonts using different shades of ink.

The card was super simple to put together with just a sentiment to make the topper on the card and a few little pieces of designer series paper and of course a little bling and stars.

Daring Cardmakers - Changing Seasons

Hello everyone and I hope you have had a lovely weekend.  I am so late in sharing my Daring Cardmakers post as we had no internet last week as we were changing our provider and had to wait for the new box to arrive.  It was also my turn to set the challenge at the Daring Cardmakers.  Luckily the team came to my rescue and shared the challenge for me.

My challenge was to create a card inspired by the change of the season (this also gave me an excuse to share something festive)

I really love this time of the year when the colours of nature start to change, the nights draw in and the mornings are a lot cooler.

I created two cards this week.  One is for the autumn and another for Christmas.

I have used the same stamp and die bundle for both.

The stamp and die set I have used is called Sparkle of the Season and was in last year's festive catalogue from Stampin Up.  I bought this right at the end of the winter season so I didn't use the set as much as I would have liked to, so I just had to use it for this challenge.

There is a lovely new wreath bundle available this year which is called Cottage Wreaths.

I love to see lots of seasonal inspired foliage this time of year and these cards will be added to be card stash.

Daring Cardmakers - Word of Comfort

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

As we say goodbye to our Queen, we cannot help but think about sadness and loss and my lovely parents are always in my thoughts.  We all find it difficult when we have to create a sympathy card, but we know these little messages of comfort are always needed.

So, for this week's challenge we ask that you make a card to reach out to someone to offer some support.  It doesn't have to be a sympathy card, it could just be a simple hello, just to give a bit of comfort and kindness.

I have made a simple card just to say hello.  You can then write your own lovely personal message on the inside.  I have used the Pansy Patch Bundle and I have stamped and die the flower and leaves.

I decided to keep my card very clean and simple but pretty at the same time.

A Teacup card with a special thank you

Hello everyone.

With such sad news of the death of our beloved queen I thought I would share something just to say thank you and I knew it needed to include something very British.  For me that had to be a cup of tea.

I am originally from the UK and having served my Queen and country whilst in the Royal Navy, I thought it right just to do my bit.

Here is a card to share with a little thank you and in the words of Paddington Bear "Thank You For Everything"

My daughter came home from school last week with some English homework and she asked me what is typically British?  Of course, I said the Queen and then I thought of a good cup of tea.  A good cup of tea is hard to find in France, so I always make sure I stock up when we go back for a visit.

Daring Cardmakers - Woods/Forests

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

I hope everyone has survived the first full week back at school.

We have a lovely challenge for you this week and hosted by the lovely Miri who would like to see something that you find in the woods/forest on your cards.

I decided to use this gorgeous designer series paper as it has these lovely acorns and leaves on them.  I fussy cut some of the acorns to use as embellishment.  In the same pack there were sheets with all kinds of other things found in a forest, so I also cut out the tree stump and some of the little mushrooms.

These papers are retired now but there is a lovely coordinating bundle called Ring with Nature which has a stamp of a tree stump and mushrooms plus various other nature inspired things.

In colours Glimmer Paper Christmas Card

Hello everyone.
I am sharing this pretty Christmas card today using the In Colour Glimmer Paper.  The in colours for this year are just so pretty and when I saw that there is glimmer paper I just had to have it.  I love anything with sparkle and this was perfect.

I recently bought some glittered pencils which came in a rainbow pack and they gave me the inspiration to make this card.
I used the tree die from the Snowman Magic Bundle and cut out the trees from the glimmer paper.  I also added some of the new and very gorgeous Snowflake Vellum.

The vellum is amazing.  You get several sheets of different designs and some are flocked and some have iridescent foiling on them.  The one I have used is flocked and looks like failing snow, perfect for my card,

I then added a sentiment and a few more sparkles to finish the card.

Another card to add to my stash.  I thought if I start making a couple a week I will have enough to send to family and friends nearer the festive period.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Daring Cardmakers - September Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

My children are now back to school so now I have more time to craft but I must get my house back in order.  I think its time to give it a good clean after the summer.

So back to this weeks challenge which is hosted by the lovely Miri and as its the beginning of the month its an elemental inspiration challenge.  Miri has selected the image below and you need to choose 3 elements to use on your card.

The elements I picked are the cup, colours, a circle and flowers.
The image has just a lovely relaxing feel to it, I love it.

I decided to go with just a couple of colours and wanted to keep my card very cool and calm, so I picked smoky slate and orchid oasis and went with a clean and simple look.

I used the Cup Of Tea Bundle for the main image on my card and added a circle of smoky slate card stock.  To finish the card I added a retired metal bumblebee.  I felt like my card needed just something else and the bee finished it off nicely.
