Daring Cardmakers - Stencil It

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Nat is our lovely host this week and would like to see some stencilling on your cards.

You could use a stamp/stencil/die combo, stand alone stencils for ink blending, texture paste or layering stencils to make wonderful backgrounds.  Or if you don't have any stencils you can create your own from dies cuts.

I created my own stencil for my card using a honey comb die.  I just placed the die cut over my card base and sponged a little ink using a blending brush.  I was careful to join up the image so that it covered the length of the card.

I then added some bees, a bit of bling and a greeting.

I love the subtle background and the clean and simple look of the card.

For Everything Fancy Sequins Shaker Card

Hello everyone.

I hope we are all good and are enjoying the summer holidays.  I know that it is summer but my thoughts have turned to the festive season.

As soon as I get a new bundle, especially a Christmas one, I have to see if I can make a shaker card.

Stampin up also have the most fabulous new sequins in the annual catalogue and I just needed to use those.  You get three tubs of pink, green and blue sequins in all kinds of shapes.  They are just so pretty.

I have used the Snowman Magic Bundle to create the card.  The die set has this gorgeous snowflake frame, so I made the design of the card fairly simple with just a stamped greeting.

I must make the same card but using the green and pink sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

Daring Cardmakers - Black, White and Plus One

Good afternoon everyone.

I am a little late in the day posting this but here is this weeks challenge from the Daring Cardmakers team.

This week our lovely host is Shabneez who would like to see black and white and one other colour on your cards.

As we are still in July I knew I needed to do a Christmas in July project and black, white and red are a prefect festive colour combo.

I found some retired designer series paper in a red and black gingham pattern.  I used the Tree Lot Dies for the trees.  I then stamped the greeting from the coordinating set called Trees For Sale.

I also stamped the little bird from the Snowman Magic Bundle.  My card needed a little sparkle, so if you look very close you will see the the trees are covered in wink of stella.

Daring Cardmakers - Less Is More

Hello everyone and welcome to another fun challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Enfys is our lovely host this week and would like to see 75% of card with white space. Which also means no stamped or embossed backgrounds (which I didn't realise when I made my card)

I really love clean and simple cards and the less is more but I always need to add a little bit of bling to my cards when I create.

For this card I have used the Cup Of Tea Bundle to create the design on the card and this time no tea cups were used.  I just added a sentiment and some of the pretty leaves and flowers.

And that was when I failed the challenge.  I went one step to far and added the embossed brick background, oops. But its still a very pretty card and clean and simple.

Christmas In July

 Hello everyone.

I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

I am a little late with Christmas In July as I really couldn't decide on what new products to buy from the new mini catalogue to create my festive projects this year.  So by the time this has posted I should have received my order.  So in the meantime I thought I would pull out the cutest little guy to create with.

The penguin place and matching punch were available last year and have been carried over into the new catalogue which is just fantastic.

As I haven't made a shaker project for a while, I got creating and made this.

You may have seen him on my Facebook page as I shared him there as soon as I had made it.

My little boy loves penguins so I thought I would hide this away ready for Christmas for when he decorates his own Christmas tree.

The Penguin Place stamp set is versatile as you can create little snowy scenes like I have in the back ground of the shaker.  The stamp set can also be used for other occasions as there is a balloon and a present. You can even dress up your penguin as Rudolph the red nose reindeer or add a hat, scarf and a bow.  I used the Penguin Builder Punch to cute him out after I had stamped the image.

Please stop by again soon as I will get creating with all my lovely new products.

Have a lovely week.

Daring Cardmakers - Cards With Attitude

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a good week.

Thanks for joining me today for another weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Kathy is our lovely host this week and would like to see some cards with attitude.

So this means no regular flat cards.  Time to try something three dimensional or with a hidden pocket etc...

This was completely out of my comfort zone as I normally just make flat cards.

I have no idea what this type of card is called but I have see a few dotted about on social media.  It folds flat but once its open the card stands up and has a little pop up section in the middle.

If anyone knows what its called please leave me a comment.

I have used the Cup Of Tea Bundle to decorate the inside and the designer series paper I have used with the spots is called Tea Boutique.  The wood grain effect paper I have used on the base is from a retired pack and I do love a bit of wood effect paper on my creations.

I have used a simple colour palette of white and blue with pops of yellow and green.

For the card base I used a full sheet of 12x12" card stock and scored it at 6" on two sides to create four squares.  You then score on a diagonal to create the top sections and cut up just to the centre on the other 6" fold which will then allow you to fold the card up to be put in an envelope.

Daring Cardmakers - July Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a good week.

Thanks for joining me today for another weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Its my turn to host the challenge and I have picked the image below for this weeks elemental inspiration as its the beginning of July.

Remember to pick 3 elements that must feature on your card.

I picked woodgrain, waves (sea),shells and colours (sunset).

Credits to Pinterest and SISISI Design

I have used the Waves of Inspiration stamp set to create the sea. This stamp is a good size which allowed me to using several colours of ink on the wave.  I just added different colours of ink using a sponge in different places on the stamp.

I then added some seashells using the Friends Are Like Seashells set and added some wood effect designer series paper from retired Heart and Home pack.

To create the sunset background I used the Blending Brushes and masked off the wave.  I love the brushes as they allow you to build the colour gradually.
