Getting Ready for Easter

I thought I would make a start on some Easter cards as my daughter came home from shopping with a lovely bunch of daffodils for me.  The flowers opened as soon as I put them in water and as the sun has been shining this weekend I was a little inspired.

I have used an Easter recipe card downloaded from Printable Heaven.  I have then made up the sweet little jam pot which comes in the set.  There is also flour, sugar and icing sugar packets to make up,  a brilliant way to embellish your projects.

I have then added a few flowers, some are handmade and some are bought.   I have finished the card with some pearls and ribbon.

This card is for the following challenges:

Home Spun

With another lovely inspiration photo over at The Ribbon Reel how could I resist this weeks challenge.

Just look at this gorgeous photo:

and the challenge is to use colours from the photo and to include burlap and ribbon.

Here is my card:

I made this card while trying to entertain my daughter on the wii which her grandparents lent her and for a 3 year old she is really good at Just Dance.  But I did get a bit sick of hearing the same song over and over.  Which she is now singing over and over!!

I have used apples as a backing paper rather than a focal point or topper and went for my favourite things, which are paper and organza flowers with just a simple sentiment.  I have added a strip of burlap, some ruffled edged ribbon and a hat pin.

Papers and sentiment are Pink Petticoat
Ribbon, hat pin and burlap are all The Ribbon Reel

Pretty Palette

Its pretty palette time over at My Time Made Easy so come and join in the fun.

Here is the colour palette:

And with such wintery colours and some snow that we did get but only for one day I thought a winter card is in order.

So here it is:

My base card is light brown and I have used papers called That Hit The Spot with some corrugated kraft card.

I have then used the digital stamp set called Warm Sentiments and Winter Knits.   For the little knitted hats I have added some colour with promakers, glitter and a some glossy accents.

I have then used Spellbinders Snowflake die for the main topper and added some snowflakes underneath the hats.

Happy Valentines!!

Love is in the air!  I think I went over the top with my cards and made a few, well I need to give my husband a choice.

I managed to use up a few more scraps.

I love this tree image and I used a mixture of promarkers, glitter and a few glossy accents to add a bit of colour.

I used this gorgeous inspiration photo from the challenge at The Pink Elephant.

New Beginnings

This post is for my friend who just before Christmas gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.  I finally got to see her at the weekend and have my first cuddle.  She is just gorgeous.

So here is my card to welcome her into the world.

I have used papers from Pink Petticoat and a stamped greeting.  I have made a pink organza flower and added some corrugated leaves and a heart.  The pram is a digital image but I am not sure where it came from.  I will have to have a look later.  I have coloured the pram using promarkers and glitter.

This card is for the challenge at A Gem Of A Challenge called new beginnings.

Especially for you

Something a little different to share with you today.

A handbag gift box which I downloaded from Mel Stampz.

I have used backing papers from Pink Petticoat called Vintage Rose.  I have added an organza rose but have used paper in the layers of the flower as well to make it fuller.  I have added some beads and a paper rose along with some ruffle edge ribbon.  The bird and the bird cage have been stamped and heat embossed.

This project is for two challenges:

The Shabby Tea Room - Antique Rose

To create a card or project using the photo below for inspiration and include roses plus fabric/ribbon

Just a hint of Red

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Just thought I would make a quick post of a little card I made over the weekend using a stamp set from Annabelle Stamps which you can find HERE.

I tried to use just a little red just to make the card stand out,  I paper pieced her dress and added some glossing accents to her boots and hair band.  I wanted her boots to look like wellies.  I then inked up all the edges of my background papers in black.

The little girl had a kite in her hand which I then cut off and I thought she looked like she was waving.

Its something a bit different for me as my cards usually have a lot of colour.

Have a great week!!!

MTME - Pretty Palette Challenge

Its another fun colour challenge at My Time Made Easy.

Here is the colour palette:

The colour palette is taken from the set of digital papers called Un-Wined Vineyard.

Here is my DT card:

The digi stamp is also from My Time Made Easy calledVintage Vineyard and I have coloured the image to match the papers using GIMP.

I then used some of the papers to make some scrunched flowers to finish the card.

I made the card with my Mother In Law in mind just as a thank you for all the time and effort to make Christmas lovely.

I hope you will stop by the My Time Made Easy Blog to check out the challenge.

The Shabby Tea Room week 148 - Elegance

Its been a while since I entered a challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room and when I saw the inspiration photo I thought how lovely and have given it ago.

The only problem is I have broken my new years resolution, well sort of.  I purchased some digi papers and I just had to use them.

I have kept my card quite simple and only used one type of paper.  You can find the paper HERE at Pink Petticoat but hurry its on sale at the moment for just £1!!!  I have added some glitter to the backing paper which is quite hard to see as it looks like I have just covered it in dots.

I have made an organza flower, added a gem brad to the centre and used one of my new hat pins from The Ribbon Reel.  I finished the card with a sentiment also from Pink Petticoat called Tiny Blooming Sentiments.

I have then added some lace and the ruffle edge ribbon is also from The Ribbon Reel.

Here is the gorgeous Inspiration picture used to make my card and the challenge was to use the colours in the photo and to include ribbon/bow and a flower.

Winter Wonderland

I had a lovely delivery from the postman yesterday, it was my Ribbon Reel challenge win.  It was wrapped so neatly it was a shame to open it but I was so excited to see my goodies.

So to say thank you I thought I would enter this weeks challenge at The Ribbon Reel.

We were given this lovely photo for inspiration:

and asked to create a card/project inspired by the colours from the photo and to include a snowman/snowflake plus ribbon/twine and trim.

I have used a snowman digi stamp from HERE and coloured him in using promakers and some glitter.

I have then added some die cut snowflakes in red glitter card and the star came from a present I received at Christmas.  The star is made from cork.  To keep in with the challenge I have added some pom pom trim which is available from  The Ribbon Reel.  I have also included some twine to the star and organza ribbon to finish.

The layout for the card is from the challenge at The Sweet Stop.

Lavender and Lace

Hello everyone, another grey day in France but I think we may venture out on a family bike ride this afternoon. Just hope my poor bike is ok as its not been used for a while.

Here is a little card I have made to cheer myself up on this miserable day:

I have stuck to my New Year Resolution again and have used papers that I already had which are from Pink Petticoat and the digi image is from Sliekje Digi Stamps.

Its getting more difficult as I just want to use new papers but its a brilliant way of using up all your scraps.

I have coloured the fairy using promarkers and added some glitter to her wings. I have then used lace, paper flowers and twine to finish my card.

This card is for the following challenges:

Happy New Year

Here it is, my first post of 2013!!  I hope everyone had a lovely start to the new year.  We celebrated at home with our daughter who got to stay up very late but she enjoyed herself, especially with the confetti cannons her Nana bought.

I have decided to make a small new years resolution.  It is to use up all my scraps before I print out anymore.  So you may see alot of the same papers.

Here is my card:

I have used papers and digi image from Pink Petticoat.  The image can be found HERE called home sweet home.  I have coloured the image using pro markers and added some glossy accents to the dogs spots. I haven't added a greeting as I thought the card would suit most occasions.

I have also used a new die which I got for Christmas called Marvelous squares.  Once the die shape has been cut there is some tiny holes around the edge so I stitched my card in red thread.  I then added some lace and paper flowers to finish my card.

The layout for the card is for the challenge at Mojo Monday.
