Travelogue

Hello Everyone.

Its Friday which means its challenge time over at Daring Cardmakers.

Kathy is our lovely host this week and the theme is Travelogue.  Kathy would like to see something travel related on your cards.  This could be transport, places, suitcases etc...

I went with a mode of transport and what better place to travel to than the moon.

Its my nephews birthday soon so I wanted to created a special card just for him.

I used the very fun die set from Spellbinders called Spaced Out.

I cut all the elements from the die set that I wanted for my card from silver and glitter card stock.  I then added a circle of space themed paper from the Beyond the Shore paper pad from Trimcraft and First Edition.  The paper is very lovely and has a pearlised finish.

I also cut some letters using an Alphabet Die Set which is also from Spellbinders.  I cut out the letters twice, once in black and then in white as I wanted to create a shadow effect to make the letters stand out more.

I then finished my card with a few silver sequins.

I can't think of a better place to travel than into space.  It must be so beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the wonderful creations from the Design Team over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Its Your Birthday.

Hello everyone.

I have a birthday coming up and I get to share it with my nephew.  I love sharing a birthday with him as it makes the day even more special.

So today I am sharing some birthday greetings with you using the Broadway Bound Suite from Stampin Up.

I stepped away from the colours of the suite and used balmy blue and pear pizzaz as my colour palette.

I started with a square of white card stock and layered this on to a slightly bigger square of pear pizzazz card stock.

Next I die cut the word wish and blended balmy blue to the top and pear pizzazz ink to the bottom.

I then took two strips of coordinating card stock and die cut the diamond border and added these to the card front at different angles.

I then glued the die cut word just above this and added a little candle for the "I" cut from the same die set.

To finish the card I added some stamped diamonds and I also die cut some more from gold card stock.

Its Getting Closer

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Eek, its getting closer.  The launch of the new autumn/winter catalogue from Stampn Up is just a week and a bit away.  I am so excited.

Today I am sharing another sneak peek using the Making Christmas Bright Bundle.  I love this set and its great for anyone who doesn't own a die cutting machine as the bundle comes with a punch.

I have made a super quick card.  This design is great if you have a lot of Christmas cards to make or need one in a hurry.

To make the card I stamped the bulb and filament all over a piece of white card stock in some lovely bright colours.

I then stamped one of the greetings in black ink into the space I had left.

I then layered this onto some black card stock and left a little border.

Super quick and it only took minutes to make.

Once the catalogue goes live I will be adding a link down the side so you can download the PDF and browse the catalogue for yourself.

Ship In A Bottle (Jar)

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend.

Just stopping by with a card that I made using my favourite stamp and die set from Stampin Up called Jar Of Love.

I made this card with my Dad in mind.  He has been through a lot lately.  Rounds of chemotherapy, many visits to the doctors, nurses visits, injections and now cancer has won the battle.  We are all very proud of him he has had the disease for 7 years and fought very bravely.  Now he is trying to live out what time he has left to the best he can.

I remember as a child Dad saying he wanted to learn how to make ships in bottles so here is the next best thing.  A ship in a jar.

To make this card I first created the background to look like the sea.  I then made the shaker part of my card by using the Jar Of Love stamp set and the Everyday Jar framelits dies.

I placed this little wooden boat embellishment which is from the Hooked - Letterbox Craft Box available from Bubbly Funk along with some beads and sequins from the same kit into the jar.

I then sent it to sea with lots of love to my Dad.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely weekend.

Back To School

Hello everyone its my turn to host the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers.

I have picked the theme of back to school.  I know its a little early but in some parts of the world the children have already gone back.

I would like to see something school related on your cards, books, alphabet, desks, etc... Lets celebrate the children and all those wonderful teachers.

For my card I went with a chalkboard, the alphabet and of course gold stars.  Who remembers as a child getting the little stars in your work books if you had done a good job?

I have lots of lovely memories from school and made some life long friends.

To make the chalkboard effect I die cut a square of black card and added a couple of sentiments to tell my children how great they are.  I heat embossed these in white and I then took some white ink using a sponge dauber and just dotted it about on the card.  It sort of looks like the chalkboard has just been wiped.

I then added the alphabet in primary colours and added some die cut gold mirror card stars.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and see what the Design Team came up with to inspire you.

Have a lovely weekend.

Sneak Peek Time

Hello Everyone.

Today I thought I would share with you a sneak peek of the Stampin Up autumn/winter catalogue products.

Don't forget to mark your diaries for 5th September which is the day the new catalogue is released.  I am so excited as Christmas is my favourite time of year to craft.

I have used the Making Christmas Bright Bundle that will be available in the new catalogue.

The set comes with a Christmas light bulb punch and a set of gorgeous stamps.

As soon as I saw this set I had to make a shaker card with a string of glitter lights.

To make the card I started with the shaker element and cut an aperture in the front of my card and heat embossed the pretty circle stamp from the stamp set around the hole.  This stamp has tiny little stars surrounding it, it just so pretty.

Next I cut several circle frames out using the stitched shapes framelits dies and glued these to the base of the card, then add your sequins and place a piece of window sheet over this which will stop your sequins coming out.

I then added foam dimensionals all over the card with the aperture and fixed this in place over the shaker element.  Please take care that your card is in the centre.

I then cut out lots of light bulbs using the punch and added these in a circle to the front.

The stamp is fabulous as its in two sections.  One part is for the bulb and the other is for the filament.

This means you can either use just coloured card stock use the images from the stamp set.

I finished my card with a stamped greeting.

Please stop by again soon as I will be sharing more ideas using this stamp and punch set.

Once the catalogue goes live I will be adding a link down the side so you can download the PDF and browse the catalogue for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check me out on Facebook and Instagram.  Just click the links down the side.

Blow Out the Candles.

Hello everyone.

I have been playing with the Broadway Bound suite from Stampin' Up!  I love it.
Its a great set for anyone like me that has a daughter past the princess and pink stage, its also great for the boys.  In fact its great for everyone.

The suite has everything you need to make lovely creations and it all coordinates so perfectly.

I started with a pieced of basic black card stock and added a some of the Designer Series Paper from the suite down the centre.  The paper is so lovely one side has a gold mirror design.

I then cut a circle using the stitched shapes framelits dies and stamped the greeting at the top in black.

Next I die cut the word wish from gold mirror card stock and where the "I" should be I stamped and die cut the little candle from the set.

To finish the card I used another greeting from the set and created a little banner underneath the word wish.

I CASE'd the sketch over at Just Add Ink for this card.
