Christmas is coming.

I have been making final preparations ready for our second baby to arrive.  We had a lovely day shopping for baby supplies along with Christmas decoration shopping at the weekend.  Every year I always buy something new for the tree.  We visited our local garden centre and it was full of the most gorgeous decorations I have ever seen a proper winter wonderland.  My daughter loved it, she posed for a photo with every tree colour combination is was lovely.

I have also finished my little sleighs ready to sell at my daughters Christmas school fete just in case our baby arrives early.

The template for the sleigh is from My Time Made Easy called sleigh ride and was fairly easy to put together. I just then bought some chocolate from the supermarket to add to them.

My daughter loves this ones as she says its Elsa's sleigh from Disney's Frozen.

The papers I have used to decorate the sides are from Do Crafts called Bellissima Christmas.

For this one I went bit non traditional and used pink, purple and gold.

All ready for delivery!!

Something Old, Something New

Welcome to another week of Daring Cardmakers fun.  This weeks host is Lythan and the dare this week is to combine new purchases with old stash.  Any excuse to go craft shopping!!!

Although I have to admit I found this dare tough.

My new purchases for this card were the little wooden stocking that I picked up at my local craft shop for a bargain price of 65c and the packet also contained a few more.  The little die cut baubles are also new from a set from Spellbinders which includes a 3d Christmas tree.

My old stash was the ribbon which I picked up from Lidl last Christmas and the die cut snowflakes were cut from off cuts that I keep in my paper stash.  The snowflake die was also last years Christmas present to myself.

Light A Candle

Its Kathy's turn to host this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  Kathy would like to see some candles on your card.  I love having candles lit in my home and there is a certain brand of candle that I love which I am hoping to get for Christmas.  I always have a stash in my house as last year we went without power for a few days and luckily the electric came back on for Christmas Day.  The house did feel very cosy.

Here is my card:

I could think of lots of ways to put a candle on my card.  From stamping to using the little birthday candles for cakes.  So I decided to use rolled paper.  The wicks for my candles came from the stems of the stars that I used in the bunting.  I then just added a little greeting.

Happy Halloween with googly eyes!!

Its Halloween and I have a little girl who cant wait to get dressed up.  We are off to a sweetie hunt in our local village this afternoon which she is looking forward to and a bit of pumpkin carving with Daddy today as well.

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is all about googly eyes. I couldn't find any at home so I had to steal them off a little chick that my daughter had made at Easter.  Just hope she doesn't notice.  I could have easily made some using the plastic blister pack that comes on most medicines.

I used papers and image from My Time Made Easy .  The papers are from a Halloween set but I picked the papers without pumpkins on them. I love this little dragon and having the googly eyes makes him just a little bit cute.  I didn't add a greeting as I thought this card could be used for both Halloween and a birthday.

Sentimental

We have started Halloween early in our house as my daughter has now finished school for two weeks and her school had a little Halloween party.  I made a few cupcakes  which I am hoping the children liked.

So to this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers which is to do with your favourite sentiment.  Anyone that knows me knows I love cupcakes, anything from pictures to eating them.  I especially love using them in my crafting.

"I love you more than cupcakes" is the perfect sentiment for me!!
The sentiment and cupcakes are from a set from Paper Sweeties called sending sweet thoughts.

I just had to make my card all girlie and pink.

Reading Time

Reading Time is this weeks dare over at Daring Cardmakers.  The challenge host this week is Beckie and she would like to see a page from an old book used or perhaps a stamped script.

Here is my card:

I don't have any old books in fact most of our library consists of children's books at the moment.  So instead I have used some lovely papers from the Prima Printery collection.  Which has some lovely script papers included.

I made this card for my brother and sister in law as they are soon to celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary.  I made the flower out of some organza material and added some beads to the centre.  The bird cage and sentiment are from a set from Papermania called Chatsworth House.

Out of this World

Only 10 weeks to go!  Nearly at the end of my pregnancy, it feels like I have been pregnant forever.  We have made a few little baby purchases this week which involved a trip to Ikea.  Love this place and it was a lovely day out with my husband.

Now to this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  Its called "Out Of This World" and the challenge is to make a card using a character that's out of this world.  So think ghosts, dragons, superheros etc.

Here is my card:

I have used a little unicorn image from My Time Made Easy.
I have then coloured the image using promarkers and a little glitter.

Daring Cardmakers - Colour Combo

We had a little coffee afternoon at the weekend for Macmillan Cancer and we raised 130 euros.  Its was the first time we had done it and we had such great support.  The weather was fantastic so we were able to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake.

Now to this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  Its a colour combo!

and here is my card:

I love the picture that comes with the colours so I wanted to feature cherries in my card somewhere so I used some background paper from Pink Petticoat.

I then stamped some cute little cupcakes and paper pieced the cupcake cases to match the papers.

The weather certainly has changed here, Autumn is on its way.  My pumpkins are looking good will have to post some pictures as its the first time we have tried to grow them.

So to this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers. Its all about in the forest.  Your card should feature something you find in an autumnal forest, leaves, animals trees, etc...

I have gone with leaves and a cute owl!

The image is from My Time Made Easy called wonderful woodland creatures.

I have then used autumn colours, brown, orange, etc....

Pink Christmas

I just love making Christmas cards and Festive Friday Challenge Blog is a great place to look for inspiration.  Its never to early to start on your festive makes even though its red hot and brilliant blue skies here in France today.

Just look at the beautiful inspiration photo:

Here is my take on this weeks challenge.

I have stamped and embossed the greeting and tree in silver and added a few embellishments to the tree.

I have then added a string of gems and some lovely pom pom trim from The Ribbon Reel.
The layout for the card is taken from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. But my card isn't clean enough to enter, I can't help adding embellishments when it comes to Christmas cards.  So I won't enter this one.

Stencil Revolution

Challenge time at Daring Cardmakers and this week was really out of my comfort zone.  We are asked this week to use a stencil on our cards.  I don't have any stencils so I used my cutting dies to create my own and added some ink.

I then added a few embellishments which I found in my craft stash.  Some little flower stickers and my lovely wooden ladybirds, which I picked up from the local supermarket.

I then added a xcut sentiment in black and layered the whole thing onto black card and added some ribbon.

This card was a challenge for me and I have ended up with a clean and simple card which I quite like doing at the moment.  Not a piece of backing paper in sight, my husband will be pleased.  I have managed to save him some ink!!

Just words

Its only a 3 months away and Christmas will soon be here.  My daughter is excited already as our new baby arrives very close to Christmas and she keeps asking me how many sleeps. So cute.

So here is a clean and simple card I have made using a Xcut die and an embossing plate.

I have just used red and white and a little glitter on the snowflake.  The star embellishment is recycled from a gift I received and I think its made from cork.

The embossing plate from Xcut is lovely as its covered in leaping reindeer.

This card is for the challenge at Merry Monday called The Words Have it.
