Sweet Friend

Hello everyone.

It won't be long now until I find out what's coming in the new Stampin Up annual catalogue.  I do have a few favourites from both the Spring/summer catalogue and the annual one.  I am also hoping that my favourite sets continue into the new catalogue.

This is one of them.  I really love the Honey Bee Bundle.

I have created this card to look like the bees are hard at work in the hive with the queen bee keeping an eye on things.

To create the card I used a little bit of so saffron ink and blended that onto the background.  I cut a couple of the honey comb pieces and placed these over where I have added the ink.

I then stamped and die cut two of the small bees and one large bee.  I added these using some foam squares.  I finished the card with some cute little hearts from the same stamp and die bundle and added a greeting.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Yellow Brick Road

Hello everyone.

I recently shared with my little craft group how I design a card and especially if I am stuck for a design layout.  Sometimes I find the layout the hardest part of crafting.

When this happens I turn to one of my favourite sketch challenges blogs.  Sketch challenge blogs are a great place to look for inspiration and one of my favourites is Freshly Made Sketches.

So today I am sharing a card where I have used the layout below from the challenge blog to create my card.

The inspiration from my card came from the film The Wizard of Oz.

To create the card I started by using the Bricks and Mortar 3D embossing folder to create the yellow brick road back ground.

I then cut two circles from the some of the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper as the wicked witch made dorothy and her friends fall asleep using the field of poppies to stop them from reaching the Emerald City.

I next stamped and glittered the shoes from the Dressed To Impress Bundle and I also used the sentiment from the same set.  I finished my card using some the sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Suite.

I love how this card has turned out especially including a little nod to my favourite film.
Maybe next time I will make the card with a little nod to the books and change the shoes as the shoes are meant to be silver and not ruby red.

The shoes were changed for the film to take advantage of the new technicolour film process.    When I was a child I also loved reading the Wizard of Oz books by L Frank Baum.

Thanks for stopping by toady and stay safe.

Daring Cardmakers - April Elemental Inspiration

Hello everyone and how we all doing?

Its week 3 in lockdown for us here in France and I am continuing to home school the children.  Some days are harder than others but the school are doing a great job of sending the work through daily.

Its Friday which means its challenge time from the team at Daring Cardmakers.
As its the first Friday of the month we have a beautiful elemental inspiration picture to help with your creativity which our host Shabneez has selected.

Please remember to use 3 elements on your projects.

For my card I picked the layout from the top left image, colours, flowers and wood grain.

I used the very pretty stamp set called Ravissant Bouquet which also comes in English, German and Dutch and I used the matching die set called Bouquet Bunch.

I used the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder to create the background of my card.  I then stamped and die cut all the flowers in colours to match the elemental inspiration image.

Of course I just had to add some sequins and I finished with a greeting stamped in black ink.

Thanks for stopping by and please head over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

Stay Safe everyone.
