Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by today.
Its Friday challenge time from the team at Daring Cardmakers.
Our lovely host this week is Shabneez, who would like to see something with wings used on your card.
For a while my husband was a bee keeper and we had several hives in the garden. Looking after them was very difficult and in the end we gave them away to someone with a little more experience and a little more time of their hands to look after them.
From one hive we ended up with about 6 as the bees kept swarming which was fascinating as this is when they are at their most calm. My mother in law was unhappy as they always decided to land on the same plant in her garden, which my husband cut part of it away and dropped them back into a new hive.
I have used a retired die set from Stampin Up called Detailed Bee which includes the bee and the honey comb. The set also had a matching set of stamps called Honey Bee.
I cut out two of the bees as I wanted to give the wings a little bit of a lift and make it a bit more 3 dimensional.
I also a glued back in some of the hexagons as I wanted the honeycomb to look like it was filled with honey.
I think this card could be for a male or female recipient which is always a good type of card to add to your stash ready to write.
Don't forget to check out the Daring Cardmakers Blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.
Have a great weekend.
xXx

ReplyDeleteThank you. Love you pun, lol.
DeleteBeautiful card Dawn and how amazing to have had bees for a while! I imagine they do take a lot of work. There is a college not far from our village which teaches bee keeping, it must have been amazing to watch them buzzing about. Have a lovely weekend

Mu husband made all his own hives too. I kept far away from them as I didn't fancy getting stung, lol.
