Morning Crafters.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. My little boy finished his first week at school without crying for the whole morning even though he did cry when I dropped him off. Then my daughter came home with a glowing school weekly report. So we had a very nice weekend with smiles all round.
I have more Christmas craftiness to share with you today using dies from Spellbinders.
I made a shadow box style card and its fabulous for posting as it folds flat.
I started by cutting two pieces of white card:
Height 5 3/4"
Length 8"
Score on both pieces at 1" and "2. Fold and burnish the score lines. You need to add glue in-between the edge of the card and the 1" score line and stick both pieces together as this will create your box shape.
I then created the scene in the back of the card using my distress inks to create a winter sky and I added in some trees which I stamped in black ink.
While this was drying I worked on the front panel and created an aperture and cut out some star shapes using Die D-Lites Lets Party Shining Star.
I then used Shapeabilities Fa La La Holiday Die by Sharyn Sowell at Spellbinders for the front focal image. I cut this out twice from white card stock and blue glitter card stock to give a drop shadow effect.
For the sentiment I used the Merry Christmas Holiday Stamp set. This stamp set comes with two greetings, the one I used and also "Merry Christmas". I stamped this on to a piece of card which I ripped to look like freshly fallen snow.
This card also looks lovely with a battery operated tea light inside.
Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the website at Spellbinders for more details about the dies I have used.
Have a lovely day.
I love this Dawn, such a clever idea and it looks so beautiful
