Daring Cardmakers - July Elemental Inspiration

WOW, its July and the start of the school holidays.  I can't believe how quickly the time is passing.

I am hosting another challenge over at Daring Cardmakers.

This week its an elemental inspiration challenge.

I picked the image below as I thought it was summery and I do love scones with clotted cream.

You have to select three elements from the image below to create your card.

I have used the colours, woodgrain, jar, gingham and fruit.

I got out my beloved Jar Of Love stamp set from Stampin' Up! which is now retired.  But I do love this set so much.

I created a little pot of jam and made a little strawberry from an owl punch.  I just cut the owls feet and head off.

I created a background for my card using a Woodgrain embossing folder with a little floral pattern down the side.  I then added some gingham ribbon and lace trim to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out more lovely inspiration from the Design Team over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

  1. Well, who'd have thought a decapitated owl would be a stawberry?! Very creative Dawn! Love the wood textured background here.

  3. Your strawberry is just inspired! How clever is that? I've used heart dies to make them before and added flowers and leaves in the'dip' to disguise it
I love the finished result Dawn, everything looks so perfect sat on the embossed woodgrain background
