Daring Cardmakers - Treat Yourself

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Nat is our lovely host this week and would like to see a treat on your card or something you have treated yourself to.

I created a card using the Brewed For You bundle.  We don't very often get to go the pub/bar so when we do its a treat.  As we live in the countryside one of us needs to drive so I always end up drinking coffee.  But its always so nice to be able to dress up a little and spend some time without the children.

I gave this card a more masculine feel which will be added to my birthday stash of cards.

Daring Cardmakers - Waxing Lyrical

Hello everyone.

I am a few days late sharing my project for the challenge at the Daring Cardmakers.  Its the school holidays here in France and family life just got in the way.

This weeks challenge is hosted by the lovely Joanne who would like to see some sort of wax featured on your card.  This could be a image of a candle or perhaps using wax to create a resist technique.

I went with a few stamped images of candles and pulled out a retired set called Broadway Birthday.  This set was one of the first I bought when I became a demo, which is 5 years this years.

I stamped the candles in lots of different colours to make my card bright and cheery.

Have a lovely week and see you soon for another fabulous challenge.

Daring Cardmakers - All Loved Up

 Hello everyone.

Its my turn to host this weeks challenge at the Daring Cardmakers.

As we are so close to Valentines Day its just got to be a hearts and flowers kind of challenge.  So I would like you to share your romantic projects and spread the love.

I don't have any stamps and dies that are specially for Valentines so I had to mix up a couple of sets.

I have used the Cup Of Tea Bundle for the tea cups and the little hearts.  I then need a sentiment so I used the Love You More Than Dies and cut up the words that I wanted.

I finished my card with a few sequins from the For Everything Fancy Sequins.  I love these little pots as you get all kinds of sizes and shapes.

Daring Cardmakers - February Elemental Inspiration

 Hello everyone.

I am a few days late in bringing you the weekly challenge from the Daring Cardmakers.  Life just got in the way this weekend.  Nat is our lovely host this week and as it was the first Friday of the month Nat has an amazing elemental inspiration challenge for you.

Just pick three elements to be used on your card from the image below.

I picked the beautiful soft colours, cups, cookie and chocolate.

This is a little nod to all the crafters out there.  When I craft I do like to have a cup of coffee/tea and some chocolate next to me.  What do you like to snack on when you are crafting?

To create the card I used the Nothing's Better Than stamp and matching dies to create my card.  I also used some lovely designer series paper called By The Bay.  I picked the design that looks like wood planks for the base of my card.

Rays of Light and Lighting the Way

Hello everyone.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

Todays project combines two products that have both got the word light in the description and were just begging to be used on one project.  I  did share this one a while ago to my Facebook page and forgot to add it to my blog.

I used two colours for the card smoky slate and daffodil delight along with a bit of silver.

I used the Rays Of Light stamp to add the glow from the lamp.  This is just a fantastic background stamp and a must have for your stash.  I then die cut the lamp from the Lighting The Way bundle.  I placed the lamp over the section where the light shines outwards so it gave the lamp a huge glow.

I finished the card with a sentiment and a die cut fire fly and used some vellum for the wings.

I also didn't like all the flat grey so I broke this up by using the Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by again soon.

Daring Cardmakers - Around the house

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly challenge from the team at the Daring Cardmakers.

Joanne is our lovely host this week and would like to see an household object feature on your creations.

(e.g. foil from the kitchen, dry wall tape from the tool box, scrape a design into paint with the prongs of a fork) or use an image of a household object as your focal point (e.g. a TV, a food mixer, a games console)

I decided to use some furniture on my card.

I had to dig deep into my craft stash and found a stamp set from Papermania called Chatsworth House.  I wanted to use something other than a tea cup so I had to do a bit of searching.

I have had this set for at least 10 years and it still stamps.  I used the lamp and chair from the set along with a sentiment.  I thought this would make a great new home card.

I made my card really clean and simple and added a little pop of colour.  I also went with a tall slim card.

The set also has a stunning birdcage and a chandelier.

Is there any stamps in your stash that you haven't used in a while?

Brewed For you with Rays Of Light

Hello everyone and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Its very cold here this morning, it was -6 on the school run but its turning out to be a lovely sunny day.

I was feeling in the mood to create some masculine cards so I have pulled out the Brewed For You Bundle.  I love this stamp set as its got some great stamped images of pint and wine glasses, so its actually great for everyone.

I wanted my card to be more masculine so I decided to use smoky slate for my base card.  I then used the Rays Of Light stamp for the background to the beer and lager glasses.  I also used a retired embossing folder to add a little texture but any embossing folder would work.

I then added a stamped sentiment from the same set to complete the card.
