Back To Basics

Happy weekend to all.

Its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers.  Its a difficult one, well I thought it was and I do like a challenge.  Joanne our lovely host this week would like you to choose one geometric shape and one primary colour to be feature on your card.

I decided to go with red and hexagons and keep my card very simple.

I layered some white card stock onto a piece of red and then I used a stencil to create my hexagon background.  I then die cut some larger hexagons from a kit of the month from Spellbinders called Fun & Sparkle.

I then attached these hexagons to the front of my card and stamped "happy" in one and die cut a little banner and stamped "birthday" on to it.

I then finished with a few sequins.  If you look very closely the sequins have hexagons in them as well.  I didn't notice this until Joanne (our host) pointed it out to me.

I can't wait to see what you come up with and please link your cards over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out more lovely inspiration from the design team over on the BLOG.

  1. Everyone rose to the challenge brilliantly and you’re no exception Dawn, this looks fab - love the mix of sizes for your hexagons and I reckon your subconscious must have been at work with those sequins ;) Thanks for playing!

  2. Love the dark red, Dawn, and hexagons are always a favourite with me. The sequins are a nice touch - subconcious or not ;-)
