Did you know that the Peacock is the national bird of India? I didn't until I did a bit of internet browsing.
As its World Tourism Day our lovely host this week over at the Daring Cardmakers is Shabneez and would like to see something from another country or culture on your card. It could be cherry blossom from Japan, a henna pattern from India or a cactus from Mexico.
I had a little play with some Brushos again to create these very pretty peacock feathers.
I selected all the colours I wanted to use which would be similar in colour to a peacock and sprinkled these onto some water colour paper. I then spritzed them water and allowed them to dry or to speed things up I used a heat tool.
I then used the Detailed Peacock Die from Stampin' Up! to cut out the feathers.
I added some sentiment strips and added a few sequins.
I love the design of the card so much and I do enjoy playing with Brushos so I created another card.
This card is similar in design but I created a full background for this one.
This time I just cut the peacock feathers out from white card stock and added some white sequins.
I love the look of both of these cards. I created a sort of positive and negative of each design.
Thanks for stopping by today and please check out how the lovely Design Team were inspired over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.
Have a great weekend.
Both versions look lovely Dawn, the Brushos in the peacock feather colours look great with the detailed die cuts!
